    Default City scratches!

Guys, I just hit a few scratches on my front bumper today, and they look nasty! My car is less than 6 months old and it hurts to see it scratched up already. There arent many, just a long deep one. Whats the best way to get rid of it? Thanks,

IF the scratches are on the surface of the paint, meaning they havent penetrated to the body beyond the last paint layer/primer then use a compound to rub the scratches. Then use polish and then wax to complete the job.
    good luck.

@dr_shah, glad to know that you have a City..I'm loving mine! Which colour is yours in? I have a Cypress Blue, so the scratches dont really show unless you come up close. Youre right, once youre on the road, the car is bound for scratches. Best thing to do is forget about it, and just drive safer. Try to add some paint on it, but dont get it replaced, its a hassle! Anyway, good luck and tell me how it goes!

allrite now..if the scratches arent deep, they can be wiped away with some brake Oil(be carefull not to spill it anywhere else except the scratch).if the scratches are deep, there are tapes available in the car market for specific colours.get one which matches ur car's colour and put it on the scratches..

    Dont use matching bumper.

I have a good suggestion..my bumper had a minor scratch, i got only the effected portion bhatti painted ( bake paint), instead of getting the entire bumper painted. honda will not do it, but a good reputable workshop should do it. rub in polish only works if the actual(black) colour of the bumper has not been exposed. Having matching bumpers really does wonders to a cars looks, not having them isnt an option

Yes Dr Shah, my city is cyprus blue pearl as well...after getting it partially painted, make sure its compound(rub in) polished as well with a machine which revolves at high RPM..that gives the finishing touch to the paint job... best of luck

i dont know how much it would cost, but in my case it was the rear bumper, they had to take it off and apply ( lacquer or what?) on the effected area, then painted and it and left to dry in those high temperature chambers.im assuming it be 1000 or less than that cause it costs 3 or 4K to paint the entire bumper. I cant stress enough that you should go to a very experienced and professional painter, most of em out there are just to make a quick buck and do whats IN favour of them, not you.

deep ones?.. paint the whole bumper is the correct answer,, ofcourse you can try compound polish but will not get same result as paint.
