    Default check engine light honda city 2000

    hello folks,

    i have experienced this one for second time, when i just removed fuses of my car and placed them back without altering with any other thing, check engine light on panel came on, unfortunately wasnt there on both occasions when it got fixed, but each time they say "relay with ECU was changed", both times it costed me just Rs.150 for its rectification but really confused why only simple removal and inserting of fuses cause this behavior.

    I really doubt there is any relay associated with my car's ECU, and can anybody tell me does this have to do something with resetting of the ECU or what.

    Is the problem is related to specific fuses or else?
    Also there are two type of fuses in city ..One fuse box is right after the battery in engine bay and the 2nd one is located under the steering.
    Qaiser Pal,I have not failed.But found 1 of 10,000 ways which doesn't work.....Toyota driver "I couldn't repair my brakes,so i made my horn louder"..When i was born i was so surprised that i didn't talked to one and half year..since light travel faster then sound,people appear bright until you hear them speak..If u can't convince them,confuse them

    @imtishal

    i am fine, its with the under steering fuse box thing, really its a scene to me, doesnt make any sense. and for specific fuse really donk know coz removed 4-5 fuses on both ocassions.

    about the manual its original book delivered with the machine, do let me know what info you require, if image semms clear i will take snaps of required info and mail you, engine is really doing great, after installation just one routine checkup, lowered the idling and thats it, no problem what so ever, i am quiet happy with it.

    Gud to hear that.u r at peace with ur car...lets meet up,and u can bring the manual and i'll get it copied and will have discussion regarding issues and problem of our cars...
    As for the current issue.I would suggest to remove one fuse at a time and check.then u'll be able to pin-point the specific fuse which is creating the problem.

    ^ ^ if resetting the ECU would solve the problem then he shouldn't had got the check engine light 2nd time when he change the fuses.

    @transam81
    first of all its was good info for me how to reset the gadget, second what about user settings like ingnition timing etc will they also go to defaults, third if there is a genuine problem i beleive this check engine light should come back immediately untill the problem is being rectified

    @imtishal
    i also didnt get manual with my purchase, this one i got from a guy in pindi at Rs.3000/ and it came with owner manual of stock cassette player aswell, if you feel like spending some i will talk to the guy, or a simple photostat may work as well

    just for this changing head doesnt sounds good to me, just take it to kharadiya, he will make bore for oversize bolt and your are done, you can also do it with a moos yourself, orginal bolts are i beleive # 12, doesnt matter if you put in # 13 as it is just a cover.

    strip wont be that much but not recommended, i have black one on mine and it sucks big time, when i tried to remove it had accumulated some bits of rust due to trapped water inside it and ultimately i had to live with this nonsense on untill i go for touching etc. so mera mashwar is just leave it

    i have already done the solution of oversize bore but unfortunately,it has cracked the head from that place.so now only solution is the change the head.
    ExiS came with silver strip on the doors.I think u r talking about the black strip on the roof.
