Default Engine Oil Change for City IDSI / CNG in IDSI

I am owner of a City IDSI 2005 (20,000Km). I have two questions:

    1. Honda recommends Oil Change after every five thousand KM where as all the other local workshop/pumps recommend changing of oil for about 3000Km. Should i go for Honda Oil (Caltex it is, I guess) after 5000 km with new filter? Or changing oil after 3000 Km is better for engine.
    2. Has anybody here installed a CNG kit in CITY IDSI? How does it perform? Is it recommended (of course I understand that with a little low performance)?

    Thanks!

But levin the thing is that i can't seem to judge the viscocity of oil with my fingers , can't really tell the difference. Speaking under normal circumstances that my car runs more in Lahore i.e Average pakistani temp/humidity.

@ levin bhai what shud we do? as i have no idea about the correct viscosity!! shud i compare it with the viscosity of the new one which ofcourse will be better but how can i find out that 'this much difference from the new oil and i have to change it.. i know it may not be possible to explain it here but just wanted to know so that i may also be able to chk that of my car.. i change the oil of my car every 5000kms regardless of the type of driving conditions as i dont know any other way to chk it other than asking the guy at the petrol pump..

    do what the manufacture say..
in hard driving, most manufactures recomend changing oil after 5000 km (hard driving is driving in cities)...
in soft driving , it is 10000 km. (soft driving is long routes)..
but keep in mind that use good quality oil.... caz the molecules of oil break down in an engine... and a good quality can only protect yr engine and serve these long terms...
synthetic is the best ... but its expensive...
and i dont know how long it can serve the engine...levin knows it... caz he uses synthetic
so levin... hwat do you say...
how about VG30-DETT in nissan pulsar n12...

well engine designs have changed over time and run a lot cooler then the older engines and hence less degradation of oil. that is why manufacturers have increased oil change intervals. Mostly earlier oil changes are more like myths then truth.

Use semi synthetic oil if u want to drive 3000 km. (Honda label oil is not synthetic).change filter with every oil change. more then 90 % of the local hondas are on CNG. what r u afraid of anyways?
