Default Rear Drum Brakes to Disc Brakes Conversion (Honda City 2000)

Car under consideration: Honda City 2000
Object of this thread: To have enough reliable input from experience of members to make a decision to go for conversion if possible, or simply abandom the idea
Why this idea: Under consideration car already have reliable braking system and i dont have objections over it, if all goes well all this because of contributing some real good to machine
Current status of searching: On internet last couple of days searching only took this far that idea is implementable and successfully done already from 60's cars to todays car's, but it didnt yield any video for such conversion, All i came up with words like " you need a conversion kit for it"
Timeline: Approx. two months for brain storming

I beleive its pretty much to get rolling

i think u shud talk wid the guy at maxtorque, may be he ll guide u about it and if u want, he might even take this as a mini project for ur car. for all i know is that it certainly IS possible n that these guys have done this on many cars, so they do have the experience in it.

i cant say how the braking pressure wud be distributed, wat parts wud need to be replaced.cuz 1 thing is for sure, widout proper settings on the new system, u ll end up in a braking system worse then the original one.so, better get a lot of info n keep it under consideration while getting the job done.

salam.. i have no information on how to convert the rear drums into discs.. However just to let u knw that city 2000-2003 did have all -four wheel disc in the very last fleet they sold out in 2003 ( i have seen a couple myself)..

so u do not have to put in the breaking system of ne other models.. all u need to do is find the rear discs made for this specific model already.. it shud not be too much trouble to convert there after..

    2000 Honda City specifications

this link shows that 2000 malaysian model didnt have rear discs, and 2003 idsi malaysian model also came with rear drums, so i doubt that even they would've put discs in 2003 old shape,

but do try to confirm about our city last batches, because it will eliminate all hassle

hmmm.... VTI 2000 suspension.... i cant think of any way to fit it bolt to bolt on a city 2001, but hes the mechanic, may be hes right.nd yes 60-40 is the actual ratio for most cars, on default.

    @wrangler
i havent seen any of the 2001 shape city with 4 wheel disc brakes, at that time even civic exi had 2 wheel disc brakes.so i dont think they ever had 4 wheel disc on city.not even today.may b the ones u say were converted, or imported...

Honda city type z vtec - Cars for sale CAR - Ayosdito.ph

HONDA CITY TYPE Z 2000 MDL
    TOP OF THE LINE
    4 DISC BRAKES
    1.5 VTEC ENGINE
    MANUAL

Now, even if the owner is right about this variant of city having 4 disc, it would be quite a search to find such spare parts here ...

I think paying a visit to Ahaata Mithu khan and Chah Sultan would give you exact and up-to-date info since they are the host of a huge and wide variety of automotive equipment beyond our belief...

in pakistan people do such alteration when they can find full rear assembly of similar car in junk yard with rear disks. and i dont think rear assembly with discs for this model is available in junk yard.

anyways messing up with brakes is risky.i drove a 160hp charade with drum brakes without problems. stupid conversion for a city(please dont mind)
Life is short and very unpredictable just like a Quarter mile .....
