Default Installed CNG in my CIty 2010 PICS

    Hey Guys,

I installed CNG kit over the weekend and so far so good. I am enjoying the ride and you guys will be surprised that it wont do any knocking on CNG which it normally does on Petrol. So far my car is in testing phase meaning that I am calculating the mileage and stuff. But again the pick and response time is pretty good.

For all those who says you will ruin your engine life or City 2010 dont deserve CNG and bla bla bla. My answer will be "I just can not afford current petrol prices these days, as I have to run 100km/day."

There you go with the pictures.

    @dani123

See... thts why you were supporting petrol, look I had the same views when I bought this car.
I bought it in Jan, 2010 and I run 100 km every day, so if you compare petrol prices from Jan till today and onwards, its already almost 10 Rs/ltre difference. SO you can say that our Govt forced me to put a CNG in my car, ;( but I am satisfied pretty much so that is the best part.

100km/day is really alot to drive in crazy pakistani traffic. So its better to install cng.

I also did the same fugure and finished 90,000 kms in 2.5 years. Good part is that its company car and i got replacement after 90K kms.

The CNG guy offered me both cylinders for same price but I went for 55 kg. Didnt put any spacers yet. Will see if spacers will be required or not.

viki, I have also city 2010 and interseted for cng please tell me which kit is better secondally there is need of advancer and /or any other component for city engine performance. I am also in Islamabad , from where you instalted kit.
You are running daily 100 km so how much mileage on single 55L tank or after 100 km how much gas(in rupess) required.

I know you don't want replies like CNG kyu lagaya nd it's bad for the engine, But CNG really is false economy, do the math, does it really save you 30 - 40k in 2 to 3 years time? CNG has always messed up my engine. I don't know maybe the reason could be something else but i always have valve leakage after an year or two and everywhere i get it checked up from, the blame is always on CNG

This is because people do BC (committee) etc. and once in a year they have lots of money but do not want a constant high expenditure. So it is easier to pay for the occasional engine overhaul rather than daily expensive fuel. Even for people not indulging in BC, you can always use your savings for a premature engine overhaul but using your savings for daily fuel consumption is absurd.

And yes, my CNG kit returned back its investment in 8 months, and it's savings since then (at least it has saved more than an engine overhaul would cost so any day I could go and park the car for overhaul and still have saved money, though it doesn't need an overhaul right now). The car is smooth on CNG and petrol, doesn't need a more frequent tune-up, doesn't need a more frequent oil change and engine oil and spark plug life has actually increased.

if u maintain a car properly, cng wudnt do any harm even in long term... my own car is reaching 150k kms on cng... not a single issue until now... i also drive almost 100kms daily, one harsh roads etc etc...just change the plugs, air filter and oils at proper time n nothing will happen

false economy for few not everyone
like a friends Atlis auto gear box burnt after 2 years. the money he saved by using cng was spent repairing the gear.
Life is short and very unpredictable just like a Quarter mile .....

i had the problem in vitz, after using CNG for about one year and then i got a premio and same problem there after about one year. both had valve leakage problem and believe me i had to pay more then i had saved. It could have been because of some other reasons but i had the car inspected from a few places and all blamed CNG for it. There is also another strange thing. Normally i don't drive my car on CNG, it's like 50 - 50 on CNG and petrol, could it be because of too frequent fuel source changes??
