    Default Installed CNG in my CIty 2010 PICS

    Hey Guys,

    I installed CNG kit over the weekend and so far so good. I am enjoying the ride and you guys will be surprised that it wont do any knocking on CNG which it normally does on Petrol. So far my car is in testing phase meaning that I am calculating the mileage and stuff. But again the pick and response time is pretty good.

    For all those who says you will ruin your engine life or City 2010 dont deserve CNG and bla bla bla. My answer will be "I just can not afford current petrol prices these days, as I have to run 100km/day."

    There you go with the pictures.

    TO vik_vik and bilal,
    Lets both one advise me , agar 36000 (average price) cng kit lagain aur Rs: 3 to 3.5 per km bachain to 11000 km kai baad cng kit ki price puri ho gi . remember ab summer season mai bhi cng ki load shedding hoti hai (in case of any emergency petrol use karna parai ga) aur winter mai bhi cng load shedding, petrol ki bhi price barh rahi hai (assume that upto budget 1 litre=Rs:85=one U.S dollar, govt price kar dai gi)
    cng sai engine kharab nahi hota (I am a one who install and uses cng from feb:1999 in mehran than bigger cars and last one is liana) care karo aur time per engine oil sahi grade ka plus tunning kar-waoo.
    Petrol gari ka apna maza hai laikin best result kai liaa (like 21.5 km/l) RPM 3000 per rakhoo baz dafa mushkel hota hai (on motorway from right and left har koi overtake karta hai aur ghur sai gari ko dekhta hai).

    Reply in cool manner, you both are good boys.. for both

    Dr sahab, I have used CNG on my last city 07 for like more then a year, sirf oil change kerna perta tha that sit. And when I bought city 2010 to yehi soch ker li thi k Petrol per chalaoon ga lakin since Jan till now there is already more then rs 10 difference in petrol prices aur obviously agy bhi ye prices ooper hi jain g.

    Now you mentioned the loadshedding issue, ye to poory pakistan ka issue hay aur konsa 24 hour loadshedding hoti hay janab, one has to manage to refill his tank for full whenever he gets a chance. So I dont think so k loadshedding walla issue considerable hay because I can manage to refill CNG in my area easily.

    Petrol ka obviously apna maza hay Lakin aik baat hay City to apki hay ab dekhny wally bandy ko kiya pata k cng fitted hay ya petrol per hay... hay to after all City hi na and the considerable thing is the economy and savings that you do when driving on CNG.

    When I got CNG fitted, mechanic gave me 2 options, EKC or Flex so I picked FLEX which is way better then EKC. So look for Flex ones in the market.

    CNG (NGV) is widely used across the world from major manufacturers, I have no idea why people are so against it here in Pakistan.

    cng saves about 50% cost of petrol ..... Anyday , Anytime , Anywhere in pak, as current prices,
    It requires gud maintenance as few things u can ignore on petrol but one can't on cng, like electrical + fuel, breathing settings etc.

    Rest regarding effect on engine !

    well, i had margalla 94 model (Carby engine) runned 60k on petrol, then put cng and run it for 340k kms on odo and then sold it for 370k to my frnd and few days back he sold it becoz he leaving country to someone for 420k ....... point is ..... ITs ENGINE wasn't opened till now, no overhauling, rings etc anything, odo its 370k kms around now....... all runned on cng .....

    so if u maintain ur ride with proper care and money, cng can't do no harm to engine at all !
    Cheerz

    @Faisal_RX8
    No ! Its 370k kms few days back when sold to some1.

    That car is now sold to some1 i don't know otherwise i would love to invite u examine/drive/check it.

    I believe here many pakwheelers will acknowledge 300k kms + for their rides without overhauling ..... and they are running fine ..... Its all about taking care of ur machine !

    I totally agree with you fellows,

    As I am running my CITY on CNG and so far so good. 1500km on CNG so far with 110% satisfaction as far as pick, mileage and engine is concerned.

    Engineers say that CNG is actually better for the engine. It is just a little compression ratio difference that worries out mates here in Pakistan. Nothing to worry about, if set up properly, any engine would do well on it.
    How can clean fuel harm engine parts? If its about some impurities (if at all), then gasoline in our country has more of them than the natural gas. Its just the feel of sudden acceleration that keeps people saying that gasoline is better. We here love to rev our 1.3-1.6 litre 80-130 hp monsters and advocate things like these.
    Its all about affordability now a days for most of the people so going for CNG shouldn't be much of an issue.

    @vik_vik,

    Seeing that there is renewed interest in your thread, I'd like to request you something.

    As per your updates, I understand that you completely empty the CNG tank, run it somewhat on petrol and then go to a nearby CNG station (where you can buy CNG on discount). You have been buying CNG worth Rs. 500/-, now I'd like you to fill it with Rs. 450/- worth CNG and find out by how many km the range has lessened. (Keep a good amount of petrol, though). I have learnt to save money this way too. Just want to know whether it can be done on Honda cars or not.

    [Considering you can get Rs. 500/- worth CNG for Rs. 420/- at your nearby station, Rs. 450/- CNG should cost you Rs. 378/- after discount].

    It is high time you did this experiment because after 1500 km, your CNG kit should have come to full form (usually there are some small problems during break-in, like excessive consumption or throttling of engine, maybe didn't happen with you.)

    So you are saying I should refill for Rs.450 on the Meter and get the mileage details on that.

    Alright will do that but just wondering what would be so special in the outcome.

    The theory is actually correct. I used to get the tank completely filled and then get it refilled again for some Rs. 200-250 as I travel around 200 kms on a daily basis. Then I read something like this and went for Rs. 300 instead of a complete refill and then have a refil of Rs. 200 and yes! I spent around Rs. 600 on CNG which came down to Rs. 425-450. The last stage of the pump is unnecessary as the gas is consumed really fast than having a little lesser pressure in the cylinder.
