    Default Honda City IDSI on CNG

    Hi Guys,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>
    I am thinking to install CNG in my Honda City IDSI 2008.<o:p></o:p>
    I need some feedback that how good this car is on CNG and what are the issues (if any). Furthermore which conversation centre should I go to install CNG. (LHR)
    I am thinking to put 60 KG single cylinder OR 2 cylinders of 30KG each.<o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>
    Any suggestions are more than welcome.<o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>
    Thanks <o:p></o:p>

    Had a plan to install CNG on coming Saturday...
    Yesterday I did some research on conversion centres and got few quotations...
    This morning I left home to goto office and don't know what happend to me and went to CNG conversion centre and installed CNG in my car...

    Landi Renzo Kit
    Tomasetton advancer & Emulator (2 in 1)
    60 KG Cylinder
    Packing to balance height...

    Amazingly they did excellent job and I don't feel any difference in performance so far (driven just 20KMs on CNG so far)

    I thought that CNG works perfect in Corolla XLI/GLI but I've never driven any car smoother than this Honda City IDSI ... Only 1 whole they did for CNG filling...

    So far so good... will calculate CNG average, its performance etc later and post in this thread...as I've to go to ISB next week...

    Cheers..

    congrats.
    do remember to empy one or 2 cylinder and go back to the workshop to adjust gas flow. for some reason they open up the gas supply to max with new kits. i have exactly same setup as your. but u will get lesser avg because of the gas in lhr and traffic

    @Mohsin129
    Sure I'll calculate it and will post it here...

    @hash4u
    Thanks... Sure I'll follow your instructions...At the moment the Gas is being leaked from Cylinder...

    My Fault... After installing CNG.. Mechanic sat with me and we went to CNG filling station.... he told me to put just 200 Rs CNG so that they can check any leakage etc.. I followed him... but I've noticed that CNG filling guys had very hard time to pull back his fillign pipe.. they checked it .. no leakage then he asked me to fill full CNG cylinder and I didn't cuz was getting very late from Office... So I used my Car Yesterday and today.. Sit late in office and when I was coming back from office I noticed that it was red light.. just after 40 KMs... (200 Rs CNG)... I filled the tank to max and started driving.. Stopped Gourmet bakers to buy egg & bread... Suddenly I noticed that there was some noise.. I had a close look and got to know that CNG was being leaked... took too much risk and drove my car 70 KMs more becuase had to drop my cousine to Dewoo etc...Now it is parked here and still the gass is being leaked.. First thing tomorrow morning will go to same workshop and ask them to resolve this issue..

    bro,
    next time something like this happen u have to close the main valve with the cylinder. extremely easy. then drive on petrol till u get it fixed.
    it only take a lit cig ....for fire or explosion god forbid

    when i got cng in the city, the installer said to get 200 gas. i didnt listen to him i got 400 rupee gas and got all leaks fixed which worked well.

    @hash4u<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>
    My first step was to open the trunk and close the main supply but unfortunately I couldn't do that due to CNG Cylinder fitting... The leaver was unable to move as it was fixed and was touching the side body of trunk.<o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>
    Anyways I went to CNG conversion centre this morning and fixed these 2 issues. They’ve changed the valve so now no leakage of Gas and I asked them to Cut a little bit extra body of leaver so that it can be moved easily without even changing the position of Cylinder so they did the same and it got fixed too.
    Yesterday I filled the cylinder at 9 PM and have driven 78 KMs with A/C most of the time and with leakage of Gas then my car was parked Idle with leakage at home. This morning I went to CNG centre at 9:30 and fixed it up and filled the Gas again and that was just for 220 Rs... So in 220 Rs it was 78 KMs with most of the time A/C on and with leakage of 12.5 hours.. I guess it’s not that bad average... I am getting excited to check it on long run.. maybe tomorrow or may be next Thursday....
    @Devilslayer
    I paid 34K for CNG and 600 for packing to adjust the height of car.... BTW today’s rate is 35.5K

    See, i told you you'r gonna be happy with the results. as for the leaking valve, if at any time u get to know that cng is leaking from anywhere in the car, just open the boot, theres a red colored knob on the cng cylinder on the left side, just turn that knob to shut off cng feeding into the system...

    Last readings in Lahore City with A/C on partially (due to nice weather in evening) and for short distances most of the time....Furthermore I refilled the tank from different CNG station and they had 210 pressure but now I refilled it from other CNG station and they had 230 pressure.. So the readings are not very authenticated...<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>
    Anyways.... 134 KM and red light turned ON.... Refilled 389 RS... 230 Pressure and Rate was little less than 46 Rs.. So around 8.5 KG of gas.<o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>
    389/134 = 2.9 RS/KM <o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>
    And while driving like this on Petrol it will be like 6 RS/KM so it’s half a difference at least...<o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>
    Going to ISB tonight through motorway but will leave around 8 or 9 so don't think I'll drive less than 120 KM/H... lets c what average I'll get...<o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>
