I am using suzuki swift and i must say that it is simply superb. Note that swift is a big hit in india and worldwide markets and in india it is the 4th highest selling car(1.suzuki alto,2.Suzuki Wagon R 3. Tata indica 4.Suzuki Swift.5. Hyndai i10.See the below article about swift:
With age, Swift gets faster off the sales block- Hindustan Times

"One of India's best-loved cars - Maruti Suzuki Swift - turns five on Tuesday and like all global legendary cars it does not show signs of ageing or slowing down.
By now, over 4.5 lakh Swifts are on the road in India, and after an engine upgrade earlier this year, the car still enjoys a waiting period of 1-4 months on both petrol and diesel variants.
"When it was initially launched, people were skeptical as it was such a radical looking car," said JS Rekhi, a Delhi-based Maruti dealer.
"As more and more cars were visible on the road, the word of mouth publicity saw demand surge and as a result, even after so many years it looks very fresh."
In a highly competitive small car market, Swift is the target for most new launches - from Volkswagen Polo to the upcoming Toyota Etios - in the premium compact segment.
Internationally as well, the car, is a raging success, exceeding demand in all major markets. Its sales were twice the target in the first year in Japan, while in Denmark it was in the top 3 for more than 2 years and the highest selling car in 2006."

Continued ...
"In India, Suzuki had set an initial target of only 50,000 units but actual sales were higher at 61,200. For the last three years, it is the country's fourth largest selling car. Last year, 1.16 lakh Swifts were sold, making the car the fastest in India to cross the 3-lakh sales mark.
The success of the car in India becomes even bigger if the sedan version, Dzire, is added to total sales. Developed by Maruti's engineering department in India, on the same platform with the same engine and chassis to replace the ageing Esteem two years ago, the Dzire replicated its parent's success to become the largest selling big car here."

Swift maybe old but it is still one hell of a car. Hamari problem abhi bhe yehi hai k Swift Suzuki hai to fazool he hogi. But that's not the case. I was talking to a Suzuki manager and he told me that this car is 95% imported, and then assembled here. The build quality is absolutely magnificent. Which is surprising because after seeing Cultus and Alto, this was a pleasant surprise. The grip, drive, brakes, handling and response on throttle is extremely good.

The only thing that is off putting is that somehow the Pakistani Swift doesn't look balanced. Unlike the European models. The front looks lifted while the back looks wighted down. If Suzuki can fix that, then this is one hell of a hot hatch.

Maybe. But i don't think so as the back end is weighted down which means it'll get even lower if people are loaded into the back...

Nice comparison done. I plan to purchase a car and i was confused in deciding between Swift and City. My Budget is between 10 to 11 but my friends were suggesting to put 2 lakh more and go for a sedan. So I was confused in deciding between hatchback and sedan. I was unable to decide that should i put 2 lakh more and go for City because of its trunk. But the discussion on this forum is giving me strength to go in favor of Swift. Shael and ammarspk, can you please put some pics of swifts' trunk, i want to see how spacious it is. Is it just like Cultus, Alto and Santro or it is much more spacious. Moreover have you carried out some analysis on its fuel consumption? How much Kms it gives in one litre?

Mr. Gugan, after needlessly and unsuccessfully bashing swift in other threads and favoring your 3cylinder Vitz, now you are confusing genuine buyers also !!!

Mr. Jar99, having kept swift for few months, I would recommend it strongly and best of luck to you. Please change Mobil Oil after 1000 Kms and Gear Oil after 5000 Kms. Rest enjoy the car. Regarding mileage it gives 13.5km/L + in city driving.

Just to clarify above, I meant for 1st service only. Afterwards, change fluids as per normal routine.
