Got the trunk light installed this sunday evening and this is how it goes:
a. Go purchase the light assembly and bulb from Honda Dealership for Rs 690/- and Rs 130/- respectively.
b. Get a properly fitting plug for the provided socket. I got a used one from a local car electracian for Rs 20/-
c. The switch to activate trunk light already exists as it is used to light up trunk open warning in the instrument cluster. But the wiring to connect the trunk light is missing. There are two wires coming out of the latch , orange with silver markings and a black one. The black one is neutral :
d. The orange wire goes into a grip mounted in the right front end of the trunk. The insulation needs to be partially removed and the wire from neutral end of the light assembly will be connected here.
e. The positive end of the bulb needs to be brought back from the fuse box all the way to the trunk. Remember there is a resistor in the assembly. If u connect the wires otherway around the bulb will not lightup. Its simple but I got it done through a local shop. He just took Rs 200/- for a very neat job. Total exp Rs 1000/- and u got an original light :
