Default First dent on my 2009 City!

Last night while returning home, all of a sudden an unmanned police check post without reflectors appeared that prompted me to take evasive action and, as a consequence, hit the pavement to my right. I was in 3rd gear and the speed was around 40. The damage is not much, that's why I've decided not to go for repairs as it would further devalue its resale. It could have been much worse. Seriously, the authorities should stop playing with the lives of the commuters by installing reflectors on check posts. The rest of the car is ultra clean with less than 10,000 kms on the dial. Even though the dent is small it still looks hideous.

Don't worry about dings and dents. This won't be the last one either.
Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there.

@abdullah1 I fully agree with you. I'll get it repaired from Honda. Work load is too much these days therefore finding hard to spare some time to take it for repairs.

@toofast I fully agree with you. That's why I always rue my decision of going for the white colour. Had I bought black or dark grey, such dents would not have been noticeable, but then again, white is my favourite colour. :-)

It should not gonna cost u more than 4k. & its not a big job . They gonna loosen the fender from the bottom put the wood inside & hammer it as this part is hollow from inside. Just repair it. Treat for youself.

Went to Honda workshop yesterday morning. They were demanding RS.7000 for the job. Such a hefty bill for an small dent. I'm gonna leave it as it is or better yet, spend the same amount of money by installing modulo style side skirts on the car.

well, having seen the bruise I suggest you not to get it repaired from Honda dealership as they will ask you to leave your car for at least 2 days for such a minor bruise plus it will be heavy on your pocket as well. If you take the car to some reputed private workshop with some reference it should not cost you more than 3000/- to get it fixed plus you can see the whole surgery by yourself. Though I would suggest not to supervise the whole process if you have a weak heart and have some profound love for your beauty

    brother
my sincere advice to u is to leave it as it is
dont do any thing, it will not affect resale & buyer will admire this for originality, it is minor, dont take it on heart

@pyromaniac Many thanks for your "graphic" description of the repair procedure :-)

@brownrose78 Advice heard! Not gonna go for denting for the time being. Have started searching for side skirts.

i think authorities need to get serious abt check posts, you are not the only one effected, i ve heard that many people ve banged their cars into these! they also cause a snail's pace traffic in rush hour!

and all this 4 nothing, meaning they dont check the cars properly, they just look @ you, as if they ve computer working, guiding them which car to stop!

yes if they cant remove them they should install reflectors on it!

acbt the car, bro, dont do anything with it, leave it as such!

@onlyfaith I sometimes regret I bought a manual City. Driving in rush hour would have been a lot easier if I had bought the automatic version. Yep, I'm gonna leave the car as it is. Planning to buy complete body kit (modulo) in a couple of weeks time. A query from you guys. I believe Civic reborn's FF alloy rims are 15 inch. Can they be installed on the city?

No, reborns rims are of 5 bolts pattern whereas new city still have 4 bolts rims pattern.

^^ Depends upon the scratch. If it has passed all the way upto metal part then I'm afraid u've to do a paint job. If not passed, it can be removed or dulled by a Scratch-out or compound.

it isnt worth fixing. and maybe you might need to remove the entire footboard to fix it and then weld it back
