Default Honda City 2006, Headlight Assembly problem

    AoA Everyone,

Yesterday I felt the smell of something burning in my city 2006, though it did'nt lasted much and later it was gone but I discovered that my headlights are not working, its working on dipper or hight beam but on low beam its not working, Today I went to an electrician in Islamabad and he said you have to replace the whole headlight assembly which was available at a nearby shop in Melody Market at 2800 Rs, the electrition told me that although this one is chinese but if I plug two relays with it it will work fine, I also called Honda 3S and they told me that original assembly is not in stock but they can arrange it in 4700 Rs with 1000 Labour charges, guys plz give your expert opinion that which option is better.

    Thanks in advance,

by assembly you mean - the switching stalk behind your steering wheel or the headlamp unit in front of the car?

talking of relays - your car already has a couple of relays for the headlamps..

he means switching stalk behind the steering wheel. You must consult a good electrician he'll be able to repair that and use relays as well for protection afterwords.
I had a similar problem in my mehrans switch got it repaired and installed relays, works fine to date...

my advice, go to honda. Do not take a risk as sometimes, faulty electrical components can be a fire hazard. Even though yu'll end up spending more money, atleast you will have peace of mind.

why are you installing extra relays when your car already has relays for headlamps in it, Honda are buying really cheap equipment for their cars nowadays...

yes it CAN be repaired, certainly.but how long it stays alive after the repair totally depends of the mechanic. a friends' idsi had the same problem, repaired it 2-3 times.relays added, still didnt help. changed the mechanic n installed new relays, n its running for aroud a year, without a problem.but if u can afford to get new unit installed, thats best... n by new, i mean the new given by honda guys, the brand new one.the kabuli one wudnt last long either.

    Hi Guys,

My cousin gave me a reference of a good electrition (Butt Electrician, Saddar Rwp), and the guy repaired it, so far its working fine, he also added cutouts with that to avoid future issues, lets see how long it goes
