    Is Honda really utilizing total? I got the oil changed a week ago, the cap on the new bottle had a caltex insignia on it. I'm using Havoline Formula because of its reliability and easy availability.

    @imar1 You are right about the viscosity. The maximum viscosity allowed, according to the new city manual, is 15W 40. I recommend using 10W 30 or 10W 40 all year round with API-SL rating. Never go for 20W 50. I used it in the summers, and the pick dropped like hell and was getting beaten by Mehrans. Had to replace the oil within forty eight hours. Lol! I use Petromin in my old Hyundai Excel. I seriously hope the Petromin dealers start importing their ULTRA-7 variant in 10W 40 viscosity. In the mean time, its Caltex for me.

    I used to get Caltex from HONDA center for my CITY 2010 but one day I got Total from HONDA center and trust me it was the most shitty oil I ever had in any of my vehicle. Your Engine wont be smooth for your next 5000 km if you go for TOTAL. So after that experience I used to put in Caltex Formula and Engine is so smooth now.

    @vik_vik Where do you buy the Caltex oil from? I buy it from the F-6 Caltex Petrol Station near super market. So far, the quality has been excellent. My mileage is extremely low. Its less than 10K after one year's usage, so I change my oil every three months. My last oil change has been from Honda Classic. Even though the Honda oil bottle cap had a Caltex insignia on it, I feel its not as good as the original caltex havoline formula. Not getting more than 10 km/l as compared to 13-14 km/l with the original Caltex Havoline formula within the City.

    I tried Shell Helix Ultra (Black one) and drove my City 09, 6000 Kms with that; my milage increased significantly; it was 12.4Km/l for those 6,000 which included most of the drive in city and few 2 hr trips to nearby town!

    1. Caltex havoline is not bad at all (the old oil honda used to use).
    2. The new stuff by total is absolute garbage.
    3. if you must go synthetic, then go for Mobil1, nothing else comes close.

    @aviatorx
    i agree that 20W50 is a little thick (upon startup in winters) but what is more important is the viscosity at engine operating temperatures. Our target market for ultra7 is the "average oil buyer" which means we're not catering to the peopel in the market for a synthetic or a semisynthetic. However it seems that most likely Petromin will be introducing (real/full) synthetic some time in the future (demand is increasing daily).

    i read it. 5W-30 fully synthetic motor oil is an ILSAC GF-4 energy conserving viscosity that provides excellent all season protection. This product also meets the requirements for diesel/Petrol-powered vehicles where an API CF SM or CD oil is recommended.

    5W-30 motor oil is recommended for all types of modern vehicles, including high-performance turbo-charged, supercharged gasoline and multi-valve fuel injected engines found in passenger cars, SUVs, light vans and trucks.

    5W-30 is general purpose engine oil for all types of vehicles where a 5W-30 viscosity is recommended.

    it is designed to provide outstanding wear protection, maintain excellent engine cleanliness, and the performance reserve to keep engines in newer cars running smooth and clean.

    @Storm Please start importing 10W 40. Am really dying to use it in my City. The 20W 50 is working like a charm in my old Hyundai Excel.
