Default Which oil filter do you use for the 2010 City

Which oil filter do you use in your 2009-2010 Honda City? I use original oil filter supplied by the company which costs Rs.980. The manual says that the oil filter can endure 5000 kms or or six months (whichever comes first). I replace the oil filter after 6 months of usage and oil after 3 months as my mileage is extremely low.

How much does the MANN oil filter cost? Is it readily available throughout Pakistan?

@Dr.Kazim Wow! That's news to me. The oil filter which I buy from Honda for Rs. 980 comes in a white box with a red sticker which says "Made in Japan". The owner's manual says original Honda oil filter lasts for 10,000 Kms or 6 months whichever comes first. Are guard oil filters any good? How has your experience been with guard oil filter? Is Guard also offeringAir cleaning element for the City?

@iLLDuDe786 I'm curious to know that as well. If that's the case, then I'll start buying guard oil filter and save my self 730 rs :-)))))

LoL! It'll take credible proof and lots of convincing for me to start using guard oil filter because I'm someone who keeps a car for the long run, at least five years, which means the engine has to be in top notch shape.

Atlas uses guard filters as OEM - both for oil and air.

and for MANN - you have to buy a box of 20 at least (I buy the oldschool 100mm Accord filter - as I need it for Honda Accord anyway) - I buy them and split between 4 freinds - cost about Rs 350/- per piece after everything.

For my Golf its filter is readily available anywhere - it uses a huge MANN 940 lube filter which is also used in Massey Ferguson Tractors and older Hiace 2.2 vans, a number of industrial generators - (costs Rs 550/- per piece) - If I want cheaper - the list in descending.

    Donaldson - WIX -
    Fleetguard - Crosland
    VIC
    Guard - Qaim - Micro
    2 no. guard
20 no. micro - Rs 80/- I wonder if it even has filter paper in it (tractor shop)

Its also annoying sometimes for my freinds to wait in the car at Plaza or a big truck stand/industrial supply shop theres one in Korangi Industrial Area. To buy one oil filter - kehtay hain abay itna chooha engine hai filter capacity khud aik liter hai.

Yes, city (i bought zero meter from honda) is equipped with guard filter. after 10,000 km also honda north sold me original filter Rs:980.oo but when mechanic change the filter I personally seen printed with guard filter. So next time I bought guard filter from open market and fix it and no problem upto date , my vehicle reading is over 22000 km. This is my suggestion change filter and oil (both) after 5000 km.
Regading air filter I have not found in market.

As per my knowledge now all models of Honda come with this Rs 980 wala filter. I have a city 2007 and it came equipped with Guard, but then i took my car to honda (on 1000 Km checkup) and they replaced it with "made in japan" wala filter free of cost. They said now no honda car will come with guard oil filter.

As for the air filter. The one that is currently being used in the new City is made in Thailand. I also had a look at its radiator and some other engine and interior upholstery components of the new City and a majority of them are also of Thai make. I wonder which part is Japanese save the oil filter and the engine? Doesn't do justice with the whopping price tag.

sir heres the reality atlas and guard had issues over leakages as reported by an advisor at Honda Atlas, thus guard is not oem Honda any longer, as for 2010 City filters, Qaim was the first to introduce them and guard followed later. I have used Qaim for my 2009 City and works wonder, this includes air filter and oil filter
