Thumbs up Good news for city 2009-10 owners

Today I got OEM Guard filters for Honda City 2009 & beyond model.
These are Air filter cost only Rs: 320/- & Oil filter Rs: 210/- .
    At Honda workshop OEM Air-filter Rs:1280/- & Oil-filter Rs: 980/-
    I saved 2260-530= 1730 rupees. If I change (as condition depend) air-filter after 5000 km and oil-filter after 5000 km (absolutely) my saving is double than workshop provided filters. Pictures for reference as following;

If your not okay wiht Guard, get ViC oil filter which is far better than the 'OEM' stuff Honda sells.

agreed.. i have noticed the same thing, more over the original air filter has some sort of oil sprayed on it to give extra protection by filtering even the finest particles of dust. I would never compromise on the filters.

The Le ppon air filters in the market are better than guard's. I bought one today for the city for Rs. 420. The quality is great.

I have heard guard oil filter should not be be used for more than 5000 kms coz in ur case I read that ur drain interval was 10000kms. It is preffered for short drain intervals and not recomended for synthetics coz that way it should have long drain intervals.
Though its not bad at all Im using in my all cars since I dont even know when.
For my VTI (ZIC A, Guard oil filter and drain interval is 4000kms), much happy.

For air filter thing, I thing we should use OEM ones.

    Default leppon guard qaim

leppon is a hoax filter, its marketed as malaysian flter but its made in china supposedly as per malaysian standards. if thats the case then Qaims made as japan since they incorporated with a japanese filter company when they started.

Guard is not OEM Honda, at one point it was but Honda couldnt manage with the complaints so they switched back to Thailand.

Qaim has new Honda city filters and should be increasing its capacity of manufacturing filters very soon as expansions in progress.

and yes local oems and replacement parts are as good as genuine as its the material in use that counts.

My City has done a lil over 5000 kms and i checked the air filter and it was really dirty... I was really surprised to see it so dirty since i don't drive it much. I suspect that the service ppl switched it out when i went in for my service at Honda South, but cant say for sure. Regardless i bought a replacement Leppon Filter... Visual inspection of the Leppon filter and Guard filter suggested that the Leppon filter has better quality which is why i went with it. Also was told it is Malaysian

Anyone that has used Leppon filters please comment on how they are performing. Thanks

The quality indeed is great. I dunno where you bought yours from but you should visit Plaza (Saddar - Not the retail shops but the other side of MA Jinnah road in the gali there are authorized wholesalers)... I paid 300 for a Leppon air filter today

Guard manufactures OEM filters for car companies but there is huge difference of quality and price between OEM and the one sold in open market.

Market is flooded with not only 2 no. parts but there are different qualities in 2 no. parts.
So be careful while buying it. Best is to get them from some well reputed spare part seller.

I have 2012 city prosmatec. The car has been very sluggish since I purchased it, until I changed the airfilter to Guard yesterday. The acceleration of car has improved drastically. Secondly the original airfilter got really dirty and clogged beyond cleaning just under 3.5k kms. May be they are putting on too much oil on the filter which is trapping all the dust but at the same time blocks the air passage as well. I would definately go for Guard next time however would change is after every 3.5k kms.

Guard air filter is OK, but Guard oil filter is not good for Honda.
VIC oil filter is best. I'm using VIC oil filter last 12 year.
last month I've purchased VIC oil filter @ 450/- for my Civic.

my driver (EX_ARMY) advised me to just clean the car's air filter every 10 days by a fuel/service station , it would only take like Rs20 ,,, my car did around 1200km after filter change n i did so , now i can feel the difference .. TRY IT GUYS!! if u do this regularly , the engine will get good quality air throughout its lifetime n will stay healthy... peace
