Default Buying new city, suggestion needed.

    Hi there,

I want to buy a new honda city, I really like the "habenaro red" color but some people have suggested that this color fades rather quickly in extreme weathers. They also say its difficult to get the same again if there are some scratches on it.

What you suggest, my second choice is "polished metalic".

    Regards,
    Atiq

go for polish metal, i too have a city 2010 in dat colour, first i also was considering to buy the red one, but i realized dat the red one only seems exciting in the begining and would be irritating after some time, while polish metal is a decent and sober colour.

My friend, the paint's outlook depends on you. If you take care of it then even after 10 years it will shine. If you leave the car out in the sun and rain then every colour will look dull after a few years. I have a Civic 95 which is always garaged and kept under cover and even today its silver colour looks awesome. I would suggest that you buy the colour that you like and look after it. Buy a car cover and when parking in the sun cover it up well. Try to park it in shade and never wash the car when its body is warm from the sun. Polish occasionally with wax polish and the paint should look good even after a long time. Hope this helps.

I purchased the Red city yesterday, I have talked to the Honda sales man about security system and stuff and he mentioned that installing a security system will void the warranty of electric system in the car because the wires will be cut etc.

What you suggest about security system installation should I go for it, similarly need the fog lights.

If I have 20,000 PKR to spend on car what you think are the top priority thing that I should go for.

Also what you suggest about getting it insured, It was around 39,000 PKR per year.

I got the car floor mates and a steering lock already.

    Thanks,
    Atiq

get good rubber on your ride i.e. good tires, that should be a priority. All other things are cosmetic changes, like the fogs etc. Also my advice, get the car insured... considering the crime rate in islamabad these days especially where cars are concerned. Alarms systems are pretty much useless, so I would not advise that option, besides the fact that messing around with your electricals will void the warranty... btw, happy driving.
