Tank was filled to the brim at Total in front of KFC Peshawar. The journey was from there to Risalpur cantt at about 12 in the night via GT road so no traffic was encountered. Have yet to fill the fuel again to check what exact average i got (because that is the true way to verify). Notice that at the end as the journey is ending at about 53km driving distance the average deteriorates....that happened when the car was parked at idle setting in front of my garage for about a minute.

Well what can i say coz i havent yet filled it up again however ive been getting 20+ averages for sure but that was while driving at 75 to 80 kph....this was too slow a drive (around 65kph) but the numbers on the meter were a sight to see.

    kya?

So ur one of those dudes who think k actual may tau kaheen 16 ya 18 day rahee hogi car baki ye sub bakwas hay hainji? Theek hay 26.4 na ho laikin aisa bhee tau nahee hay k 16 mil rahee hogi....serviceability of the system is OK in my opinion coz when speeds are taken to 110 to 120 kph phir meter 16.5 kyun dikhata hay average? it means its working.

Bro today i will upload few pics of the average meter of honda city....thers some information about it which members might not know yet. When u press the button repeatedly to bring the average screen there isnt one window of info which u get on that screen. There are 2. The top is a left right scroll bar type thing n the bottom is a digit figure.

The top bar that scrolls left right is an ACTIVE display which keeps on changing immediately if u increase decrese the rpms or speeds to give the most accurate current display of the average the car is experiencing with current driving conditions and throttle application.

The bottom digit figure shows u a predicted average which u will get in case the current driving style is continued for the whole duration of the remaining fuel in the tank. This figure can keep on deteriorating or otherwise slowly and gradually and this is calculated by the car looking at averaging out the data from last ZERO till current time. Last zero means when u zeroed the meter last time after the refill maybe.

This is what i have observed it to be, expert opinions are requested because this is just my observation and not company verified data.

26.4km/l is like getting 62 miles/gallon, something that you would associate with best seller hybrid (Toyota Prius).

That is just an amazing figure.

Honda gives a good mileage but you cannot truly trust the reading on digital meters. When I apply brakes, my car gives 99.9 km/litre reading.

If you really want to check the fuel efficiency, put in 1 litre of fuel in totally empty tank and then drive till you run out of gas.

.so here are two pics of the honda city meter.

264 km litre on Honda city 2010 -214447

FIRST pic: Note that the display is showing an average for the distance driven since last zeroed meter on the bottom marked in red. This can be improved or kept stagnant or deteriorated with the type of driving style. The improvement or deterioration is slow on this display because it is an average of a calculation based on no of litres remaining in the tank as well as driving style adopted. Its a sort of prediction that if u keep driving the way you are driving then by the end of this tank of fuel u will have done this much km / l. but if u change the way ur driving then this average also changes but slowly and gradually to show u new calculations.

On the top u see a left right scroll meter encircled and marked in green which keeps hopping up and down every few seconds, this is a very fast constantly updated display of the current average ur gettin from ur car. In the picture u can see the car is being driven at abt 2100 rpms in fifth gear at around 72kph. The current performance of the car is around 24 to 25km / l according to the top bar. However it was being driven at faster speeds from the last zero till now so the bottom average display i showing just 15 km / l at the moment but this will slowly keep rising to something like 15.2 then 15.5 then 16 n so on if the car is driven with current conditions.

264 km litre on Honda city 2010 -214448

2nd pic : This is a picture taken of a static started up car at idle rpm....u can now see that the ACTIVE display is lying at zero and the bottom display is showing performance from last zero till now. If car keeps static at idle started up then the bottom display will start deteriorating to somethin lower then current display 16.8 will become 16.5 then 16 n so on coz the car is eating fuel without puttin on any kms.
