Default New features in Honda City Offered

I have booked Honda City Manual from Honda Canal Motors two weeks ago. However while enquiring about the delivery, i have been informed that Navigation along with Back Parking Camera is offered for additional Rs. 50,000. They have also one such City on display with navigation and parking camera option.

Is this a marketing tactic to compete with upcoming facelift in Corolla???

I have sold my City for facelift Corolla (I might go for Altis). I will rebuy City; only if Honda Atlas introduces a premium variant "City-Vario" featuring Indian like 1.5L engine with paddleshift 5speed AT, improve the plastic quality of interior; a revamped beige interior will be appreciated, dual SRS (or atleast driver SRS), Nav/LCD/Camera thing as standard, leather wrapped steering with audio controls, chrome sash moldings and door handles etc. These all things are offered as standard in Indian market (except paddleshift which is offered in City' top of line variant). Point is I am not asking anything out of the way...just demanding what Indian customers are getting as standard!

I will definitely prefer such thing over 1.6L Altis [New corolla Pictures leaked 2011] and such version will not hit Civic. Civic is definitely enjoying no competition in 1.8L class!<!-- / message -->

A member mentioned on https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/whe...-city-fan-club thread that City Nav System is different and it costs 50,000Rs and Civic' system costs 55,000. He also mentioned that City' system is not well integrated and has some loose wires. If the @poster has seen the car in showroom; a feedback from him will be appreciated!

    Dear Khuziz

With the passag of time, Pakistanis are demanding more and more features in new cars which have been a standard in other markets. However we are also concerned about the price that would eventually be charged on the pretext of providing all these as you have mentioned that may be on a much higher side.

I have seen the Navigation System in the car displayed at Honda Canal Motors but didnt used it, so can't comment on its performance. However no loose wiring etc was found.

Honda City always had competitive price...I preferred it over Corolla GLI; it had better worth for me (my drive is 99% within city or on better highways)

Honda has no product in 13.37 - 16.92 range (Manual Transmission) or 14.70 - 18.10 (Automatic Tran) and there are many sweet spots like 14.50, 15.50, 16.50 (Manual Cars) or 16.00 and 17.00 for Auto. The thing I am asking can hit any of these sweet spots without disturbing any Honda product equation and I think it will sell fine. The product I asked about; I think it will have much better worth than even upcoming 1.6 Altis.

Honda took the lead by introducing Automatic cars in Pakistan. Toyota has recently introduced us to Triptronic. Paddleshift obviously can be the right answer from Honda...and I think it will be hit in City due to the fact the paddleshift is "sproty feature" and City is much "sporty" and dear to "young hearts" in Pakistan

    If we do some maths;

    Dual SRS = ~1lakh
Audio Controls and Leather Steering plus better interior = ~0.50
    1.5L Engine = ~1.00
13.37 + ~2.5 = ~15.85 price tag. Still sweet spot, as entry level Civic is 16.85

Paddleshift can be optional making its price equals almost entry level Civic. So a fully loaded City or entry level Civic. Not a bad equation!

Due to obvious reasons. Our market is relatively more monopolistic as compared to indian. So vendors here are less concerned about getting or retaining market share. They know whateover they will offer, they will find buyers for that.....

My bad. I didn't knew Indian city came with paddle shifters. I just checked the indian website and it is a very cool feature although it does not suits city. A civic with paddle shifters would be uber cool!

Honda India offers Civic with paddle shifters and HID lamps on its top of the line variant. That my friend is already uber cool.
