Default City idsi engine replacement suggestion and rebuild

As asked before in other thread but could not get response so here again:

    1. Should I go for valve/rings change (rebuild) only or Assembly change in my honda city 05.
    2. And if Assembly then which one? will the original idsi be better or vtec or some other, approximate cost?
    3. will vtech 1500 a good fit in this car, and how about the consumption as compared to idsi?

(current engine is blow by, compression down).

if there is a minor issue with ur engine, get it repaired

if a complete overhaul is needed........ get it swapped with the same kabuli engine, they are far better
an overhaul would be expensive as well

i would emphasize here specially on a swap with some VTEC or any other honda engine
city's arent meant for it and its suspension and brakes are already at par with the IDSI...

you will disturb its weight, balance and the gearbox would also not match.......

Completely true, shouldn't be experimented. Personal experience which later forked more than what I spent

it doesnt effct the resale of the car as no one will be awre of it they will stamp the same engine num on ur kabli engne and no one can spot it unless chkd by excise dptmnt and if they do so so its not the big deal u will pay sme fee and they will chnge the engine num in book but they dont do that after all its pakistan :-) mazay kaarrr... kabli daal. i hve done so many tyms without any tension.

dont go for any thing more powerful than idsi 1300 cc engine coz city has very bad brakes . . .if u go for anything more powerful it will be very difficult to stop ur car . . .

There are tons of city engines in Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar..
I would recommend you to go for L13A engine with complete transmission..
just head n assembly costing 13-15k
    transmission costing 6-10k..
complete engine with transmission costing around 25-30k after giving yours.

I have also issues with my city 2006 idsi auto.. it has l12a installed and i am planing to go for L13A..

Pls dont go for number punching.. its illegal..
either just keep the original receipt with you or after 4-6 months testing put it on your paper..

    Default Don't temper engine number.

Do not change the engine number of kabuli engine. Its totally illegal. Better to get new engine number on your registration book in legal way. And i recommend you to change complete kabuli engine to 1300cc that comes originally in this model. You will get around 30-40000 rupees just like new one.

Swapped my 2005 IDSI 1.3L when the engine weakened at around 170k with CNG, 30k into its life, car drives like its been given a second life. Registration papers reflect the engine change, a rebuilt engine is an inferior option to a factory sealed original engine. At least that is what my Honda mechanics recommended.
