Engine overhauls are rarely successful in Honda Civics and Citys. That's why people opt for swapping the engine (a kabli one from Bilal Ganj would've cost you 30 odd thousand).

Now coming to your issue : Do you feel that the car is making a lot of noise upon acceleration but not going as fast as it should?

Its your clutch plate. Did you replace it during the engine overhaul? I think not.

Even if you did, and still feeling the same issue, I'm pretty sure the replacement was either used or low quality.

I think the new clutch/pressure plate (the whole set) should cost you around 5500.

One more thing, the IACV - did they "open" it to clean it?

You DO KNOW that when you overhaul the newer L series Honda engines you need to replace the following bolts with new ones

    main bearing caps
    con rod caps
    cylinder head

and the machining tolerances of the crank to bearing shell is very tiny in this engine, Machinists are not equipped with such tools in Pakistan. And the cylinder honing is done like the H22 - it leaves a strange looking matt finish on the cylinders.

Its a little easier to firstly check the compression and oil pressure then determine what failed and repair/replace accordingly. Its a toy of an engine and does not tolerate hammer/chisel tools

Is the clutch slipping? or the engine bogging?

jazzy - The kabuli IACV available here are 95 percent taken out from an Automatic transmission car, which if installed in a manual transmission car somehow tend to make the car less responsive in acceleration.

Are you sure yours was from a MT?

Honda can charge whatever they feel like for their parts.

The actual price of a genuine one in the market should be around 5500-6k, atleast it was about a year ago.

in Pakistan the dealerships also sell you counterfeit parts and do not take any responsibility whatsoever. There is no pricing and quality control too.
