    Default Honda City MT 2011

Just bought a brand new Honda City MT. I'll be getting the delivery form Honda Shahra-e-Faisal in a couple of days.

Wanted to ask what to expect at the time of the delivery of the vehicle? What should I be checking in terms of equipment to know that there has been no compromise on quality and all electronics etc work OK?

Also, what mods do you guys suggest? Are the stock tires OK in terms of quality and performance? I feel the tyres are a bit small (175/65/R15s) when compared to the size of the vehicle? Should I get, say, 195/65/R15s instead? What else should I get changed, if at all?

    Thanks,

Did a really bad thing and bought it on own. Didn't have much choice since we were shifting and I had to get a car.

OK, so I got the delivery of the said vehicle and below is what I have to say:
The Honda Shahra-e-Faisal people delayed the delivery of my cars' papers by a day, even after repeated reminders that they'd land me in great trouble if they do (I was travelling the next day).
I didn't find any trouble with the car or the body (although, I thought I had till I read on pakwheels that there were no rear speakers in the car by design).
The Honda Shahra-e-Faisal people didn't have any fuel in the car. And by any, I mean any. The car hardly got to the gate of the showroom, stopped and refused to start. They had to run a guy to get some fuel from the nearby station. It started only after refilling, and that too after multiple tries.
The drive is very smooth, even when compared to my previous Steermatic (if you discard the difference of transmission, that is). The engine is almost noiseless, the cabin is very secluded too.
The steering is very smooth as well.
The black interior is a pain. Not only is it super prone to dust, it also makes the car unbearably hot to sit in when under direct sunlight. The interior quality is also below par. I expected better.
Compared to the earlier model of City, I don't see any improvement in the cabin room size. Feels the same.
The internal sheet between the engine and the cabin is very thin, it seems. The horn sounds to be going off inside the cabin, it's that loud.
I have been driving the car for around a week now and so far, the econometer says that I am doing around 13.7 kmpl. I can only confirm if this is accurate once I refill.
All in all, I like the car but I feel I deserved better in 1.4 million. Things like rear speakers, alloy rims, better tyres should be standard in this amount.

Agreed to poor interior quality...it gives too much plastic look....anyways, congrats you got the car....1.4million is not too much these days

I have experience with dealing all brands dealers in pakistan and found that HONDA dealers are rude, TOYOTA talks nicely and trying to sell, SUZUKI dealers deal like local general store sales-man. (interesting I have Honda).

    @Idealali
Nice review of the car. Honda Centre gave me a paper about the details and features of this new Honda City when I went there to book the car. "Power steering with tilt" was written on that paper.
How much ON did you give? Is the invoice on your name or on the name of the person who booked that vehicle?

I didn't find them rude but they weren't the most efficient either. Wasted a couple of my days for nothing. Then having no fuel at all in the car was a big turnoff as well.

Masha-a-Allah, congratulations on getting the new car! Its really a beauty and I enjoyed having it. As long as you take good care of it by following whats in its manual...you sure will love it. Dont use Honda lubricant; instead try Mobil 1 or Helix Ultra and you will like it even more.

+1 about the poor interior quality; being black it starts looking dusty very soon. Try to avoid driving with open windows. Keep it cleaned and polished. I used to take my car once in 2-3 months to local dealer and the service guy there used to charge 100Rs "additional" for polishing the interior.

I think it all depends on rush; here TOYOTA people talk like general store sales man...leni hey to lo...wo khari hey khud dekh lo etc and HONDA people deal very nicely. Luckily we have another toyota dealer a little outside of main city that is rush free and people there talk nicely.
