People do what most mechanics tell em. In my 5AFE which is 1500CC engine I use 3 L oil and my Mechanic puts 3.5 L oil in a same engine of other car

    5A got 3.02 L oil Capacity.

So use the oil see if the level is full in 3 L than keep using 3 L.

vaqas its doesnt makes a sense to pour 3.5 litres in 1500 cc engine and use the same in 1000 cc engine , its not right , people just follow what engine oil changer or mechanic say , i believe its 3.0 litres with new engine filter , still wait for xulfiqar and storm replies !!

The newer models of car most of them are using more oil than older models thats what i have observed for longer oil change interval.

New Cultus uses around 4L engine oil thats what i have heard.

Why dun you look for your engine manual and see what it says. 5AFE says 3.02L so when i put close to 3L oil i can see the dip stick showing little over F mark.

I use to own Charade and i use to use 2.7L oil in that engine with oil filter.

These things are different engine to engine. Dont just rely on some one's advice and try to find out your self if you are confused.

Sorry for jumping in late, safest way to check ANC be sure how much oil the car needs is to fill 3L and then keep filling it at 100ml increments till the dipstic reads full/max.

The old 1.6 accords from the 80s have a 3 litre sump - total oil change capacity with filter is 3.5 litres (funny isnt it)

the capacity of your engine is 3.2 litres with filter - when the oil level registers between the two marks then its full, if its touching the higher mark its overfilled but still safe, if above that you risk foaming up the oil.
