Default CNG In new Honda City 2010

    Hello Everyone,

I have bought Honda City 2010 with CNG Installed in it. The Petrol Gauge goes down even if the car is on cng. Please suggest the way out from here. What really is the reason behind it? Do we have petrol and cng being consumed simultaneously? If not , how can this bug be fixed?

Would appreciate your comments on this. Thanks

    Amad

dont miss guide some one when u guys dont know whats the real problem.
@Poster Ur car is equiped with consumption meter which shows the remaining fuel in ur tank ACCORDING to the KM'S TRAVELED and that too according to YOUR DRIVING HABIT i.e FOOT. thats why ur needle goes down. if u want it to go up after driving on cng fill ur tank more than F. your needle will stay there till 10000's of kms OR in some cases it comes down and after few hundred km's it will jump again to the top... lets say u filled it up and drove the car on cng for 300kms the needle will come down, shut down restart it will jump up again. once you consume the fuel by some litres that in reality brings down the needle on petrol below the F mark then it will start to drop...fill up again those used litres n it will stay up. please note nothing is wrong in ur cng or wiring but still drive your car frequently on petrol everyday for 10 kms in the morning.
Your grandchildren will likely find it incredible - or even sinful - that you burned up a gallon of gasoline to fetch a pack of cigarettes!

Refill how much ? Like if the needle has gone down, do we have to run it on petrol for around 20kms to have the needle back to its original value? Please comment. Thanks

I have an automatic city and i use to face the same problem. The solution i found to this problem is to keep the tank full. If the tank is full then the needle does not go down when you run the car on cng.

Just for my information. What mileage do you guys get on a full cng tank?

Adding to above that new city is fully computerised based and this happen is normal. I kept my vehicle tank full and there is no droping, on keeping between full and half it will drop but not fully i.e. no reserve light comes and needle got up after 300 km drive and when petrol tank is less than half so needle drop fully even reserve light comes up and after some km's it will up again.
Better is that always kept petrol more than half tank. good luck and happy drive.

Can you explain about this fuel corrector device?
It would be better if you explain it here, as its an open discussions forum.

    AoA,

I have the same problem with my City 2009. I think it is common with most of City user due to computer miscalculation of the fuel use while on CNG (City does not come with factory fitted CNG). I do the following to be ascertained of the Petrol level in my Car:

    1) Get some petrol filled in my tank even one or two liter will serve the purpose by bringing the petrol gauge needle back to actual.

    2) Unplug and again fix a terminal of my battery, so computer is restarted and shows the actual Petrol gauge reading.

    I hope it will clarify <label for="rb_iconid_7">CNG In new Honda City 2010 - icon7</label>

    Listen everyone.
cng usage n going down of patrol gauge in city 10, 11, 12 is NOT a problem.
    i had this thing,
Patrol gauge of city is connected with the tire rotation . n ur car checks ur patrol after every day. listen u might have been noticed that patrol gauge comes up after u park ur car at night n sleep or what ever n in the morning its again up.
its cause it checks it. theres always 12v current there even u switch it off. do not worry n drive, its nothing. no need to check anything, and most of in fact all of the mechanics do not know about it. nor the honda sales mans as they are not technical staff.

Actually many times I heard about this issue, it's a common problem. I think, you need to see the exact value of fuel gauge when you run the car on cng.
