Default My Honda City went 163.5 KMs in a full CNG cylinder in city

    Hi all,

I usually get my car tuned up from Enercon guy Naeem in Karachi. I am very satisfied with its fuel economy. Uptil now it went between 145 to 155 in a full cylinder without CNG in city. Yesterday it broke its record by touching 163.5 KMs, the gas tank became dead empty though . I love my City 99...

I have driven my brother in law's city 2003 a lot. It gives almost 200kms or 190kms in city. But it depends on the cylinder size and quality of CNG which largely differs between cities.

one factor would be RWP means more free flow route with clean & cold air whereas KHI is more like stop and go route, with dusty humid air.

cng consumption depends on weather as well. My cultus 2010 is giving about 25km per cylinder more as compared to the summer season

Folks, one clarification. I mean without AC in full cylinder it travelled 163 in a full cylinder. Yes my cylinder also gets filled in about 540 rupees, so it is largely known as a 55 ka cylinder.

Vickybhai, get your car tuned by any Enercon shop. They do computerized tuning, block any gas leakages from your gas kit till the exhaust. If you are in Karachi, go to Naeem at shahrah e quaideen. Try one of these numbers to reach him : 0300 22776935, 0300 2242 025. Tell him you have come through Pakwheels.

CNG average mainly depends on the Methane gas content in CNG. normally Methane content in CNG in Punjab (SNGPL) varies between 86 to 89%. but we are charged on kg basis.
if Methane (CH4) is equal to 89% in the gas then millage will be better and it will reduce when it touches 86%.

People claim and they keep claiming.A normal 4 door sedan with 1300-1600cc engine would give 18-20 kilometer in 100Rs worth of CNG.So in 500Rs worth of CNG it would give 100-110 kilometer maximum. Those who claim mileages like 150 and 200.Complete lies.I currently own a petrol driven Civic but i had CNG on my previous rides.

Well the fuel efficiency depends a lot on the way the car is driven. If one is cruising at speeds of 90-100 km/hr without AC and engine of 1000 or 1300 cc definitely one will get unexpectedly good cruising range. Similarly while driving in city if one normally moves on routes where he can drive on high gear and does not have to stop too much again his cruising range would be far better than one who normally travels in city on routes which are jam packed with traffic and one has to stop and move -- stop and move like an earth worm. Like I have seen a Cultus VXRi 2008 doing 240Kms without AC on GT Rd in 500Rs CNG last week. Other major factors that effect the fuel efficiency are:
    1. Clean Air Filter. The cleaner it is, the better is the fuel efficiency.
    2. Well tuned Ignition System is another contributor. It includes quality of its parts and their adjustment as per the specifications like spark plug gap, spark plug cleanliness, Ignition timing etc.
    3. Correct tire pressure. If tire pressure is low than the specification it reduces fuel efficiency.
    4. Quality of fuel. Good CNG good fuel effeceincy thus good cruising range.
    5. Quality of engine and transmission lubricant. This factor does has a effect.
    6. Correct engine valve clearance which is in desi language called Tappet adjustment.

RapShap, what makes you think so many people are lying here? Bro, get your car tuned up by Enercon if its costing too much. Also, the Honda City is really very economical - ask the experts... Get your car tuned up by Naeem:

"get your car tuned by any Enercon shop. They do computerized tuning, block any gas leakages from your gas kit till the exhaust. If you are in Karachi, go to Naeem at shahrah e quaideen.
