Unhappy Honda city noise while driving

    Assalamu-aliqum PW brothers,

I am having a problem with my Honda City 2005 and I need your help!

My car makes noise, which is noticeable at around 40 KM/Hr speed, it goes like.. vroom-vroom-vroom-.... and it gets quicker with speed.

I got it checked from different mechanics..also from Honda Classic. they all said, its front wheel bearings.. i got it changed (left wheel bearing) with genuine honda bearing but the problem was still there.. no success at all. now the mechanic says its the rear wheels that are making this noise..

I think, the problem is a small one, but is not getting diagnosed properly, as all of a sudden all wheel bearings cant go bad together.

need your help. also if somebody now a genuine expert mechanic in this domain, in Islamabad. plz let me know.. will be looking forward to your suggestions/help!!

If it comes from engine bay then sound can only be diagnosed by carefully listening... start the engine, rev it and listen.
The best car safety device is a rear-view mirror with a cop in it.

    Thankyou for replying.

It is not coming from engine bay.. it sounds like coming from wheels

actually this sound even comes if u switch off thje engine at high speed and let the car roll on the momentum gained. it means that in this case, the sound can not be from the engine. the same happened with me in my platz, and on inspection i found out that the sound was coming from the ABS bearings. i got them changed and the car is running perfect now since last 4 years. in this case, i dont have any idea what it can be as 2005 city does not have ABS, but this is for sure it has got something to do with wheel bearings, either front ones or the rear ones (Wherever this may apply)

Here is a method thru which u can narrow down the bearing noise part...
Although a little effort is required in this but u will eventually reach the issue...
here is wat u have to do....neutral the car and lift the 4 tyres one by one through the car jack, now rotate them through ur hand and if u listen any "grrrrr" "grrrrr" type of sound from the hub then the bearing of that side is the culprit.....

I had the same issue with my city, got it fixed by replacing one front and both rear hubs. The rear hubs pair costed me 5000 and one front hub costed 3000 from "Sultan ka khoo". The diagnosis is as mentioned by 'zafraan' above and offcourse a mechanic can help you with it.
