Reading the car manual would be helpful.

Have you given it CNG? Often new cars don't like
when we put CNG in them and in protest the light
    is on

it is a 2002 honda city no CNG instaled. light normaly turned on when after acceleration i slows down the car. then i reset the ignation it goes off and then again after first slow down or break it turns on and stays on untill i restart it again. so when i was on moter way it did not turned on when i stopped at service area it again turns on. i restarted the car and then when i slows down at islamabad tool plaza it again turns on.

LOL autophile bhai, you speak the truth ....

any ways, there are 2 yellow lights in the dash, one is for EPS (electronic power steering), and the other is the check-engine(oil?) light. im not sure about that. as autophile suggested, read your owners manual for further info.

my bad werseen. i thought you were referring to the new city.. the cars user manual seems to be your best bet right now

Go to your mechanic, hopefully it could be only a loose sensor. Sometimes they get loose or stuff. Honda mechanic will check it with his equipment which will tell exactly what is the problem.

This is 'Check Engine' light that is lit up when some of the sensors/accessories related to the electronic fuel injection system malfunction.

As far as your problem is concerned there are two main possibilities:

    1. Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)
    2. Idle Air Control Valve (IAC)

the problem you state is same as in daewoo

For daewoo it is the VSS sensor malfunction(Used to inform ECM about the vehicle speed--usally connected to gearbox on one side and to speed meter cable on other)

Check It by a Honda Motor Dealer as he has the ECM Checking Unit With Him

the easiest way to reset was to take off the battery terminal for 2 minutes and connect it back
i messed up with my Honda's cable because it was stalling on CNG, and faced similar problem

if its the check engine light, it can be becasue of atleast several dozen reasons...not just the few mentioned above.

the owner's manual will offer no help...as manuals will only tell you to take it to a shop. if you can tell me exactly how many times it flashes and for how long it stays on....i can look up into the honda hayne's manual and can tell you exactly what the problem is.

the engine light turns on based on a code...there is a code for a host of problems that the ECU may detect.

the proper way to resolve this is to plug a code reader in the ecu and it will show up the code. then that code has a definition that a honda mechanic can look up and diagnose properly.

    hope it helps.
