Steermatic is not a machine which you only pick on the basis of fuel consumption , Its a different kind of machine which give you lot of other pleasures

anyway its average intercity with 100% AC is between 10 to 12 and on long its better than that

Ohh soo all the rumours that mechanics give that its a fail car. arnt true?
I was buying it and was just curious how much it does. So does it give better mileage when driving with auto or manual?

That is pretty good for a 1.5L engine.

@OP Definitely the consumption of i-DSI will be better than Steermatic but you'll be missing alot of features if you are getting the i-DSI.

These roadside mechanics dont know the capabilities of Steer-o-matic.
They still term Mehran, Khyber and Cultus as the best options because even any roadside mechanic can fix them.
The car which they are unable to fix, will be termed as junk by them.

Steermatic averages between 10.5-12lm/l in city driving. There are lots of goodies that never came in the i-dsi inc. optitron gaugaes, 7-spoke alloys, different interior trim, 1.5L VTEC engine, switches on the steering to change gears and a transmission that allows you to drive the car in 6 different modes:

    1. D
    2. S
    3. D Auto
    4. S Auto
    5. D Manual (you shift using the steering buttons)
    6. M Manual (ibid)

By looking at your profile, I'm presuming that you are 20 years old. If you can get your hands on a clean, low milage steermatic that has never been used on CNG then go for it bro. But that's just for you. As for your mother, a vario i-dsi or a 09 i-vtec city will serve the purpose equally well.

I already have a 2000 civic for myself. Well yeah i was guessing for going for an idsi A/T but was getting a real good deal for steermatic so was thinking why not opt for a better model.

You forgot to mention that the spare wheel is also a 15" alloy.
However the interior trim is almost same to that of an i-DSI.
