Default How good or bad Honda City is!? i'm thinking of buying one.

    Assalamu alaikum Everyone!

I'm thinking of buying a used 2007 Honda City.

    1.
I've heard that City is very generous on fuel and does around 20 kilometers per liter on long routes if driven at around 80km/hr. Is that really true??

    2. Some people say that Honda City also has many downsides or weaknesses, for example, it's not very tough like Civic, Is this also true??

Actually, i'm a Civic lover, I've used civic for 4 years and had no complaints at all. My only reason for buying a City is its good fuel economy but I also don't want to compromise too much on durability. So, if you could oblige me by answering my above two questions about Honda City, that would be terrific.

Your responses would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks very much

i own an idsi, it does not go above 17km/l and i drive at 90-100 never above.
hybrids do 26km/l that too within city not on long..
im not saying you are lying.. just that its hard for me to believe as i have compared notes with a lot of other idsi owners and 23 is by far the highest ever mentioned mileage on pakwheels for idsi done by a pakistani..

search on google about its claimed mileage ,they claim 26km/l as that was with no brakes and u should fill ful tank and then see how much it had done in a tank

like i said.. in pakistan by a pakistani...
they had 4 people in car and with luggage... so if they are doing 26 with 4 people and full luggage with AC turned on..
and your friend travels with only 2 people and not sure about AC or luggage.. hes getting bad mileage.. he should atleast get 30km/l and defeat the purpose of hybrids claiming idsi to be the best car engine tech in the world

Bro Drive your car at 2RPM (80-90KMPH) you will get some atleast 2-3Km extra from 1Litre which means +-20KMPL....even 17KMPL is not bad either Bro.

Yours should do better than that as i got 14.2 km/l average from the onboard average meter in peak rush hours on my brand new city which is under 100km driven.... i was surprised to get the above figure as vehicles consume more fuel during break-in period...it would hopefully improve after i cross 5k mark...perhaps this is becoz i m still using stock tyres and u might have upgraded to wider profile tyres!!

well i want to upgrade to softer tyres and have read on the forums that yoko advan db's are the softest but the problem is that no good tyre is available in stock profile 175/65 and i guess advan db is not even available in 185 width, only 195....using a wider tyre would adversely affect the fuel consumption and most importantly affect abs operation...what say? i am open to suggestions as i have also seen many people here who say that euro stars are also good enough but according to my personal experience, they are a bit hard and are quite noisy...

    @ammarkhan87
Sir, you may have plans to buy a used Honda City 2007 or 2008 but if you want to really get an economical drive I would suggest that you buy a brand new Honda City. You may not have the cash available but probably with some car financing you can buy one. Fuel economy of a used Honda City 2007-08 will depend greatly on the condition of its engine. If the engine has been run a lot or not in good condition then you wont get good fuel economy. But a new Honda City will give you the best possible mileage and you will be in control. That's my suggestion for you.
    :-)

ASIAN AUTO AmBank - Fuel Efficiency Awards - Your choice of a fuel efficient vehicle? | thenomadGourmand

Only source where Honda City is placed in "fuel efficient and economical cars" with MAXIMUM fuel efficiency for the competition was " 16.39 km/L "

And MPG of Honda City claimed by our people is more than STUNNING 56 MPG..... OMG :-)
