Default Vibration During Initial Acceleration - Honda City Vario

    Dear All,

Here i am with a new problem, seeking all brothers help.

My Honda City Vario, when accelerating from 0 , (initial speeds upto 10-15kmph), experiences a vibration, that goes away as soon as the engine rev's higher.

E.g on U-turns, or on peeling out of traffic signals, the vibration can be felt (But only if u push the gas pedal suddenly. the sound is not there if gas pedal is pressed gradually).

The car is stable upto speeds of 150-160kmph and with no jerks or vibrations. RPM is totally stable in D,S,L,N,R and P!

I have already gotten suspension work done including shocks+balljoints etc (However the mechanic did tell me that there is one engine mount on the 'gatri' (back end where steering rack is), that is worn out (1 week purani baat hay), so could it be the problem?

Since i hope k koi transmission related problem na ho .

    Experts! Please Help!!

so i must get it fixed asap... ok thanks, and btw bearings make sound as well so they are also in need of replacement. arghh :/

can you give an estimated cost for replacement of pressure plate, clutch plate, bearings and the labour?

Brother every place has different rates for this kinda work. If you go to a dealership, you'll have holes in your pockets bigger than the grand canyon...... !

However, there are lots of other alternatives i.e. good mechanics + genuine parts that can make this task a bit cheaper and less cumbersome.

Islamabad market is a bit different from Khi market, however, on a very very rough note, you're looking at something around 20k.

Well that is somewhat affordable. When i went to honda workshop and found that bearings were making the sound they gave me an estimate of around 36k just to replace bearings.

Thanks for the help, now i need to find a good trustworthy mechanic

Well, what they are quoting for i believe is the whole hub, not the bearings alone.

    @bnasir:

Bro the Vibration is felt from Somewhere in the rear Side of the Engine-Bay.. i.e. Near the rear mount or the place where Axles are connected to the Gear.

Furthermore, the thing that is surprising is that, the vibration is ONLY there when car starts from Zero with High-acceleration (pedal is suddenly pressed full way), means k when engine/transmission/axles would be under load.

If the car is moving even slightly i.e. 10kmph, and it is then suddenly accelerated, the vibration is NOT there.

The Vibration is felt in the body of the car as well, since i can feel it in the cabin very pronouncedly, as well as the dash n all other things in the cabin vibrate. but this is for only 1-2 seconds. Jese he gari speed pakkar le the vibration goes away.

dear Bro do you have a workshop or a car repair center of some sort ?

If yes then please tell me your location so that i may visit or send my car through some person to get it checked.

I believe the car doesnt need a scan, however it need some mechanical attention

One more thing i'd like to mention

That when the car experiences this vibration, the REAR VIEW MIRROR (and the belly dancer bob-head on my dashboard), vibrates very prominently, indicating that the vibration is due to something connected to the chassis :-\

Engine+Transmission to mounts k thru hotey hein, so they shudnt cause this vibra, shud they ?

    * Mounts were checked, rear side mount (one that supports engine+transmission) was cracked n was replaced.

    * Mount was bought from Shershah (Kabari Market) in used condition (since i needed a genuine one), so its rubber was a bit hard.

    * After initially replacing mount, the vibration increased, but now, it is decreasing with time, ab thori si dampen ho gayi hay

    * One thing to note k the whole car body vibrates

perhaps that mount had lived its life already? vibration can only travel through body if mounts are not dampening it enough. Or maybe something is directly touching the chassis (cng kit? ) Try seeking advice from @Xulfiqar

using a scrapyard mount is like buying used underwear, buy a new one and make sure its not NOS, it should be fresh.

@Xulfiqar : bro the used underwear seemed somewhat very less used ..
However, i spent a day yesterday at the workshop, ruling out everything including axles.

what is your observation? pehla gear mushkil se lagta or nikalta hai?
also try moving the car (from rest) in second gear and see if vibration is still there.
