Default Honda City - 20K km, 2 Year Old - Maintenance & Fuel Average

So my City is 2 year old and 20,000 km driven.

Brand new car and no parts have been changed or repaired, except oil/air filter and engine oil.

Recently, I have noticed a drop in fuel efficiency. It used to be around 10 km/l and now it is 9 km/l on average. This is after adjusting for AC, Traffic, Driving conditions etc.

I have also never had any checkup or tuneup on my car ever.

Question: Should I now go for any kind of checkup or tuning for my car? If so, what needs to be done and from where?

Thank you Pakwheelers - you are all such a good resource!

Buddy, just get your car checked every 20K from Honda. Otherwise just kdes changing the oil and the filters regularly.

    thank you pistonhead and cooldevil..

may i ask, what does "tuning" involve?

    is it different from "checkup"?

    what about the cost?

i am thinking going to the honda showroom for this..

    thanks

bro they ll charge around 2000 for complete tuning, that will include cleaning of breaks, injectors ,plugs and besides this they ll have an over all check up of ur vehicle. its worth spending there, btw ur car mileage is low as compared to same models,u must pay a vist to honda showroom

i gave them a call.... they said there is nothing to do except "throttle body cleaning"

even that they say should not be necessary after 2 years/20,000km..

any thoughts? my car is automatic btw.

there is quite a noticeable petrol smell that is coming from the car exhaust...

it is not coming from the bonnet, it is not coming from inside the cabin - i am quite sure it is being released from the exhaust pipe...

is it normal to have some petrol smell from the exhaust?? or does this sound abnormal?
