    Default Honda City Unstable at 120 km/h on Motorway

    Guys i m a Proud user of Honda Cars since 8 years but my recent with experience with the latest Honda City is not good specially on motorway,. I drove Honda CIty 2013 on motorway last weekend and it was unstable on 120 Km/h specially on highwinds area as well on other areas..

    Let me share the details of the car, company tyres euro star are replaced with Yokohama C Drive, Balancing/alignment was done when tyres were changed. but it still gives the feeling driving a plastic made car on 110-120 cause its vibrates while holding steering tightly i still feeled like its going to move side ways....

    Experts advise needed on this issue

    Thanks,
    Umer

    the oil u r using should be changed after 10k but the oil filter should be changed after 5k.
    Boss oil gets really dirty at 7500, this time im thinking to keep the interval at 6k max, I called chevron pakistan and they never gave comments on the mileage they simply said follow ur owners manual

    How did you assume the oil distiller and package company would tell you the oil change interval for your engine?

    The lubricating oil is specified by the manufacturer of the machinery. Not the lube manufacturer. e.g. lets say mobil 1 say - oil is good for 10,000 kms, get an aircooled VW beetle and fill its sump (all 2.5 litres) with mobil 1 and drive for 10,000 kms. You will probably be rebuilding it half way there. (that engine does not use a proper filter).

    So who do you follow?

    weight has not much to do with suspension. Drive an old american car (caprice etc), those cars are damn heavy but still very unstable. it depends on the kind of suspension setup.

    @OP
    while the new city is reasonably stable if u compare it to other local cars of today, its true that its not even nearly as stable as the 1997-2003 shape. the reason is that the 1st gen city was much lower in height then the current city. this kind of proportions did make it more stable but it wasnt much roomy and not as comfortable as the newer ones. the focus in newer cars is on fuel economy and minimizing manufacturing costs. u must ve noticed that city 2003 onwards dont have rear independent suspension while the 97-03 model does have it! reason to stop making independent suspension = reducing cost, increasing trunk space (hence huge trunks in city 03 onwards), reduce components in the suspension and hence reduce replacement cost and increase life of those parts (as they are now simpler)

    while city is reasonably stable for the speeds its meant to be driven (i ve driven it to 185km/h on stock tires and was just fine) if u still want more, get wider tires, 195 or so. may be put a few mm side spacers on the hubs to increase the width of wheelbase (although im not 100% sure if this will work or not)

    1345kg??? are u kidding me? you are claiming that a baleno is heavier then an 8th/9th gen civic!!! dude, if baleno was that heavy, it would be as fast as an alto. but its not! im not sure but i think baleno would weight less then 1100kgs.

    hmm - so my benz which weighs in at 1595 kg (dry) is not that much heavier than your baleno, regardless that my car has a big heavy 6 cyl diesel and a heavy 4 spd automatic transmission, HD suspension etc.

    you sure that the baleno was not loaded with a bag of manure? Im wondering where suzuki stuffed the weight.
