Cool Owner's Club: Honda City Aspire 2013 1.5L

    Hi Guys,

I thought all 1.5L Aspire owner's can come under one roof and share their opinions about this car and the unique engine type which has been introduced for the first time in Pakistan in ivtec. This will also provide a good reference point to standard City and Aspire 1.3L owners and help everyone make an informed decision to the age old conflict between Standard City or Aspire when it comes to new purchase.

    Areas of Focus:
    Engine Performance
    Entertainment System
    Navigation/GPS Performance
Handling/Braking considering new Aspire is 1.5L
    and many more ..........

All opinions and suggestions are welcome.

Reason; technical fault in their factory has extended the production dates.
Sarasar bakwaas karaty hain I saw with my own eyes several times loads of new city Aspire stock parked outside Honda showroom almost daily so how can they say k its a tech fault with production. As I see it they have surplus stock of Aspires only they try to make ppl ullu.

@kilo 19, Thanks for starting this thread for owners and prospective buyers of City Aspire.
I booked mine today and according to dealer will hopefully be delivered within days.

Want to ask 2 things here.
The issues that you raised in this post specially the Under Guard / Cover Panel and the AC Filter were they picked up by the Honda Guys, and were they fixed for 2 thousand rupees at honda dealership.

Second, I presume the Eurostar tyres would need to be changed upon delivery.
What are the reccomendations for that.

Hopefully you are enjoying your ride
    I'm looking forward to it.

    Kind Regards

Secondly, are the stock tires okay, if it after markets are preferable than how much more should I keep in mind for that?

Lastly, Is there something wrong with the city automatic? I have a manual car right now, and it's a pain driving in Lahore's traffic, hence I wanted to get a auto..
i personally think manuals are better than auto , owning both , city'09 AT and city'12 MT.. AT of city is rubbish.. doesnot give that instant jerk of acceleration and also consumes more fuel .. gear shift is also not that smooth..

tyres are just fine if u drive inside the city and yr max speed is not more than 90 or 100.. if u go on highways or are a speed freak, better replace them .. i would recommend NITTO 185/65R15 .. however if u really wanna spend on new tyres , go for it.. the existing tyres can also be traded in for Rs2500-3000 each

sir if u havent booked your car , here's my advise.. but if u have booked auto . perfect!

..... go for manual , u will enjoy it more than auto.. specially if u go on hills often , manual would be better..
if auto , for ascent like munal , use d3 , 2 or even 1.. d wont do here , even on civics

    1500 Km driven Manual transmission
    here is the review

Exterior: Stylish but color quality is poor (own a black one).

Interior:Good. Dash with navi looks great.leg room is good. no rear foldable seats which is pathetic. no ashtray at back. leather looks nice.

Fuel Economy: 15-19 kmpl ( only 1500 km driven).

Suspension and handling: suspension is hard but not uncomfortable (just put on some soft tires). handling is very good.brakes are very good.

Ride quality: car is very responsive being 1.5l. ride is very smooth and acceleration is just awesome. on motorway car feels so smooth and under control even at high speeds.

Final words: great car, mileage is good and there is no knocking issue(atleast i didnt hear any knocking on 1st gear).

I am looking forward to buy city aspire 1.5 however, for me fuel economy and suspension is important. According to my research city aspire 1.5 manual is doing around 10-11 Kmpl in city with normal foot I'll be very glad if you reconfirm your stats for city 1.5 fuel average. Similarly, according to many drivers corolla gli has better suspension than city and city 1.3 lacks in comfort level. Is there any difference between shocks and hence comfort level of city 1.3 and city aspire 1.5?

Gli 1.6 automatic and Aspire Prosmatec are at same price tag. I would grade Gli 1.6 a better built vehicle than City.

Cosmetics like rims, navigation are after all cosmetics.

Aspire Prosmatc 1.5 at 17.9 lacs is a let down, however Aspire Manual at 16.5 lacs is a better buy.

    Guys comment on this

PS. Gli 1.6 is also priced at 17.9 lacs including freight. ( invoice price as of today )

Yes I am sure my car is doing 15-19 kmpl with AC. 15 in city and 17+ highway with light foot. It's mileage is good.
You are right about suspension. It's hard but not very uncomfortable. Believe me it is not built for rugged roads. Corolla has softer suspension and more comfortable on bumpy roads, but tell me how many roads in city have are bumpy. If you change euro star tires that come stock with soft tires suspension will get better. City's harder suspension gives it very responsive and sporty handling

Yes I personally think that corolla 1.6 is better than auto tranny aspire. I have got a manual one.
Plus I think corolla 1.6 has economy mode which is good.

1865 is an upscale version with Navigation, wooden panels and some other cosmetics ...

1792 is essential one ! I got the prices a day before from Toyota Capital Islamabad
