Cool Owner's Club: Honda City Aspire 2013 1.5L

    Hi Guys,

I thought all 1.5L Aspire owner's can come under one roof and share their opinions about this car and the unique engine type which has been introduced for the first time in Pakistan in ivtec. This will also provide a good reference point to standard City and Aspire 1.3L owners and help everyone make an informed decision to the age old conflict between Standard City or Aspire when it comes to new purchase.

    Areas of Focus:
    Engine Performance
    Entertainment System
    Navigation/GPS Performance
Handling/Braking considering new Aspire is 1.5L
    and many more ..........

All opinions and suggestions are welcome.

Your car is still in break in period- After 5000km you will see some results! And I guess you didn't use AC before because of the weather, now since the heat kicked in, a bit more fuel is used^
Turbo lag is like foreplay. You know it's coming. And it's gonna be good.

    Arrow Summary

Seem like this thread is atleast 80% fuel efficiency related.

Any update on the Audio system? Does it sound good too or sirf Show Shaa :p
Should I be adding some speakers to it?
Which tyres have we short listed considering added width (maybe 195 or 205) and a silent drive?
Is the utility package worthy of Rs. 15k?
What is the quality and comfort of existing leather seats?
Should we go for the trackker if bank's requirement is only insurance without tracker.
Which body wax should be used and what should be the usage pattern ?
Which brand of fuel is best recommended. I'll probably be getting a Shell card from my company, is that good enough?
What is the Registration cost as of April 2014?
Is it okay to take your car on Motorways in initial 500KMs ?

I am going to receive mine in about 4 days, so the few things I've learnt are:

    - Get an AC Filter installed ASAP
    - Get the stock tyres changed
    - Engine guard sheet is missing, install it as well
    - Get the delivery in day time
    - Don't push too hard on brakes in initial 1000 KMs
    - Don't accelerate too much in initial 1000 KMs
    - Drive slower since ECU is in learning stage
    - Don't ever try to compare it with Toyotas or similar cars

Please add some more directions for new buyers..

    Regards...

205 tyre width is too much for city to handle ..u will end up ruining the drive ..been there done that !

The best is if u can find 195-60/15 or 185-65/15 profile. I am using Yokohama Advan Db in one city and stock eurostar in another and believe they are worlds apart in terms of confort. In terms of Eurostar durability ..the also last longer ..I got them replaced at 50k kms with 60% tread remaining. But THEY ARE NOT COMFORTABLE

Speakers is okay-ish not out of the world. If you want to add some decent components with an amplifier ..speaker alone won't be of much avail !!

Leather sucks BIG TIME ! The most pathetic quality and you will find it too in times to come

Comprehensive insurance cover is enough for Honda City as the theft rate of specifically this model is 0% ... Yes, thieves don't like Honda City

Yes it is okay to take it any where ..I drove to isb from fsd after taking its delivery ...

If budget allows ..buy 'Meguairs New Car Kit' ..it will have all the necessary items you require for initial 3-4 months .. costs 4500 rupees.

Meguairs Wax and Wax and Meguairs ultimate Wax is enuf for now !

Utility package is NOT worth 15k

Always fill up the fuel tank from a company operated pump ..may be any brand. Yes, shell is better than others !

Registration cost for base model 1300 manual City is 66k ... for Aspire manual and Prosmatec it is 85-90k

I HOPE THAT I COVERED ALL WHAT YOU ASKED.

door visor looks cool , agreed and may come handy too but the market is flooded with cheap quality visors which come off in a month or so an than it looks dirty ... again .. been there, done that

If you want some branded door visor like mugen .. you'll have to source it coz i doubt they are in local mrket and may cost you 5-6k ... and yes honda door visors are of good quality , won't come off

U can get door visors which have some kind of hook locks+double tape...they look very nice and wont come off nd available for 1.5-2k only and utility package is waste of money in my opinion

I must admit that this was the most comprehensive thread on Honda Aspire. Acha, I have got a second thoughts problems (the most usual one). I am a light foot driver, 60-70 kmph in urban areas, 100-120 on high and motorways. I am planning to get Aspire 1.5 AT since I am getting it on control rate. Only question, should I go for 1.3 AT or 1.5 AT?

My concerns are not shaskas...I really am concerned with vehicle performance, plus I would be saving 175-180k if I opt for 1.3 AT.
    Please comment on fuel economy.

City AT has poor resale. You should keep this in mind ...if you are NOT Comcerned about resale than 1.5 has a bigger engine ... Navigation ..keyless entry ... and a so called 'leather' interior , alloy rims , high mount stop lamps

Make your pick. Fuel consumption wise there is not much difference between 1.3 and 1.5 Prosmatec.

Okay here's an off the topic question. I mean it is generic with respect to City and all other brand new cars.
There was a myth in market that until you do not push the car to its limit in early few hundred kilometers, Engine 'sahi khulta nahi'

in our earlier discussions, we have come to a conclusion that driving slower and avoiding rapid accelerations in first few hundred kms really help.

So does the above statement remains a myth or what? Coz I have somehow experienced it in multiple cars..

What a insane myth ..bhai it is a engine ..jitna khula hona chaheye utna khula hota hai factory se hi .... don't get your car screwed .. drive easy in break-in period

Thought so... Though many many people believe in this..
So typically, how long is the 'break-in' period?

The purpose is for the parts to sync with each other. The idea is to drive gently putting the least load on the engine as possible. Don't baby the engine. Limit your rpm to 3.5k and drive with a light foot and you're good to go.
