Cool Owner's Club: Honda City Aspire 2013 1.5L

    Hi Guys,

I thought all 1.5L Aspire owner's can come under one roof and share their opinions about this car and the unique engine type which has been introduced for the first time in Pakistan in ivtec. This will also provide a good reference point to standard City and Aspire 1.3L owners and help everyone make an informed decision to the age old conflict between Standard City or Aspire when it comes to new purchase.

    Areas of Focus:
    Engine Performance
    Entertainment System
    Navigation/GPS Performance
Handling/Braking considering new Aspire is 1.5L
    and many more ..........

All opinions and suggestions are welcome.

    Default My first impression

    Hello fellows

I got my Aspire 1.5 P/t in december 2014, i have driven it around 3000 kms by now. BEfore opting for 1.5, i had test driven 1.3 P/t but i felt that it is a bit underpowered in lower gears or you can say it doesnot give such a great feeling in start as 1.5 does so i went for 1.5 against suggestions of my dad and friends

Interior : No worries, all is good ! nav response and touch response is not bad at all, i was expecting it to be slow, nvm . blue speedometer is excellent addition, really soothing to eyes
Exterior : Rear reflectors (black colored bottom part of bumper) look good, rear lights were probably better before facelift, front chrome grill looks awesome (it looks really sexy on silver color city, just saying)
Mileage: i have driven it on both long routes and within city. Once it gave me 19.3 mileage at speed of 80-90 between lahore and sahiwal but i drove it only to get maximum mileage. this car is designed to be driven at 120 atleast. At 100 speed, mileage is around 16, even at 140 mileage is 14. Within city, mileage is 12-14 depending on traffic
Such a pleasant experience it is to drive this car.
    Acceleration is too damn good
I felt no problems with stock tires

My neighbors had a got spray paint on grills and all the residue fell on my honda city black color. Due to this residue, paint feels very rough. Please suggest, how to remove this paint residue.

    u can either get 175/65/15 or 195/60/15
i personally think Yokohama is a great tire. Get es501DB or AdvanDB

    overspray problem
It can be easily removed by using Clay. I had the same problem and i removed it myself using Meguairs Clay.
It is a time taking procedure so i suggest you do it in pieces.

    Thanks for reply.

Should I goto Honda Service center or some other person for this. The car is brand new just 2000km driven so, this thing is disheartening. will it be cleaned 100% or not.

I doubt if Honda service centres provide claying services, chances are that if you go there they would end up compounding your car to get rid of the over spray.
If i were you i'd buy a clay bar kit and do a DIY, it's pretty easy and fun.
And yes it will go away 100%
Clay it then glaze or polish it and top it off with a good wax.

No thinner. Please stay away from it they will destroy the paint of your car.
You can get it from Shahid autos F10. Meguairs clay kit is good
My car was also brand new when I had that problem. Believe me its fun to clay your car. I do it after every 6 months.
Before claying your car please make sure that you know the basic things about Clay. Do not use Clay if you accidentally dropped it on the floor.

Manual 1.5 have a good consumption. While auto one will have slightly less than manual. Maybe it would be around 10 km/l in city drive.

I have travelled 3 times on motorway with this car, each time with different average speeds. In first 1000km break-in period, i drove at 100kmph speed and it gave me 17.8Km/L average. The next time I travelled with 110 and it was around 16. Last time I pushed the engine and drove at 125 and it was around 15... so on highways you should not be worried about the fuel consumption.

Locally I am getting 10-12Km/L and I don't think that's a bad average for 1.5 engine in urban and extra-urban conditions. Infact I have stopped looking at the meter anymore.

Having owned a 1.3 City 2013 model previously, I didn't expect much from this car, but 1.5 prosmatic is surprisingly good in terms of fuel and comfort.
