Cool Owner's Club: Honda City Aspire 2013 1.5L

    Hi Guys,

I thought all 1.5L Aspire owner's can come under one roof and share their opinions about this car and the unique engine type which has been introduced for the first time in Pakistan in ivtec. This will also provide a good reference point to standard City and Aspire 1.3L owners and help everyone make an informed decision to the age old conflict between Standard City or Aspire when it comes to new purchase.

    Areas of Focus:
    Engine Performance
    Entertainment System
    Navigation/GPS Performance
Handling/Braking considering new Aspire is 1.5L
    and many more ..........

All opinions and suggestions are welcome.

Any figures higher than 20 can be on a slope going downwards :-)

i thought this average is normal for a hypermiller like me.

Filled up the tank to brink from F-11 Attock pump and restarted the trip meter.

car drove 760KM exact when i reached back to f-11 and the slight more than quarter tank was left.

filled up the car tank again from attock pump f-11 top check how much i have consumed.

Autofilled of tank stopped at 29.83 Litres of petrol. (Note that initially when the tank was topped up it was autofilland not the jhatka zabardasti tank full)

Average speed maintained was 90. overall speeds varied between 80-110 km/hr.

and i keep my foot controlled and keep eye on hypermilling meter in the cluster which i tried to keep above 20 through out

same car does 17-19 on highway when y father drives it.

That is something a little new for me. I have tried to hypermile but not been able to achieve this kind of results. Maybe I should read more into it or take a lesson from you :-)

That is where this car is great, and mind you I'm still not pushing it and it wants to go. In this space it will leave behind any Rolla (no offence I have one) and any Civic on CNG (which surprisingly there are many).
You pushed the car in 3rd gear from 50 to 90km/hr when its driven less than 1000km.... extremely ignorant on your part.

there could be more gimmicks that you must have tried too, undesirable !

I just recently bought a 2016 Honda City 1.5l. Aspire Manual Transmission. I bought it 2 days back, and its 150kms driven.
I have managed up to 12.4km/l till now. This car can do more, and thats only possible if you try to keep the revs (RPM) below 3,000. Since its a 1.5l. it can easily acheive up to 12.5 km/l, or maybe more.
The reading of the fuel average on the meter is almost accurate, but the Fuel guage cannot be 100% accurate, since the car is moving. When the Fuel Guage needle is on "E" or even slightly below, the car still has about 4-5 liters of fuel in the tank. But it is not recommended to drive on reserve fuel since it can damage the Fuel Pump.
I am using it only on High-Octane, but its not compulsory to drive it on High-Octane since its designed to run on normal fuel as well. Its just that I only use High-Octane in all the cars I own.
I just love the car, the Performance difference in 1.3l. and 1.5l. is clearly visible.
Try not to race in the Running-Period/(Break-In Period). You can drive it fast, but since its new, its not recommended to accelerate hard, during the running. If you want to drive fast, drive it. But try not to rev it to the max, and don't launch it from a dead stop. And don't push it till the end for a pro-longed time period.
This City can beat a GLI 1.6l., but I think on a longer run, the GLI may take the lead since it has a larger engine displacement than the City.

I live in Islamabad, and I also want all of you to know, that this 1.5l. City has a higher redline than 1.3l. City. 1.5l. has a Redline @ 7,000RPM, where as the 1.3l. has it below 6,600RPM.
I just don't like the stock factory rims of this city, because of the very narrow width they have. These Rims and Tires can be very useful for achieving high fuel economy, but the are not safe on high speeds.
Putting fatter tires like 195/65/15 do contribute to better road grip, and gives better look to it when you take a look at it from the back, but it will reduce the fuel economy a little.
I recommend all of you 1.5l. Aspire owners, NOT to put tires beyond 195mm width. Since it may effect/reduce the Economy and Performance a bit, which may not be visible to some, but they do bring some difference.

Bhai back then people had no idea what cvt is. They installed cng in vario and steermatic and literally destroyed whole of the gearbox.
Now due to widespread knowledge of cvt due JDMS, people have started to love cvt, one fine example is the popularity of Grande.
Anyways ye aik khuwaab hi hai k city mai cvt aye ga

Brother I own a Honda Aspire 1.5 and trust me when I tell you it can easily beat a Honda Civic with automatic transmission. I have raced my Aspire with a Honda Civic Prosmatec 2013 not a reborn, Civic pulls away at the start but after shifting into 2nd with my city, it easily overtakes the Civic.

GLI 1.6 has 4 more Horsepower than 1.5l. City, and there isn't much of a weight difference in both. Hardly 50-70kg. It does matter, but Corolla has 4 horses more in the engine to compensate with the weight comparison of both the cars. So that is why I am saying that Corolla might take the lead in the longer run. City has shorter gear ratios than the Corolla, which is why City might be ahead on start.

AOA dear members , i have been a frequent visitor on this thread and today i decided to post my experince regarding city 1.5 manual
I bought this car around 8 months ago and i am MA very satisfied with its performance i am university going student i am based in rawalpindi and my university is in islamabad .
Before buying this car i owned a honda civic reborn i loved that car in everyway due its looks performance and what not kept it for 3 good years and then sold it reason being it was a 2008 model when i sold it i had many options first thing that came to my mind was to buy a 2012 model less driven civic but after suggestion from friends and family i bought city aspire 1.5 reason being aftrr all civic would still be 3 yrs old. So got my hands on this beauty it wont be wrong if i say this car performed much better then my expectations took it on highways motorways hillyareas and its performance never let me down now coming to the point today i decided to hypermile my car and see the best figures i can acheive from it i got my tank full from pso pump opposite askari 10 and went to university on islamabad highway , my university is around 24 km from that point i used all the techniques in the book to hypermile , my cars normal milage is between 14 - 15 km/l in normal driving condition today i was hoping to acheive around 18 but the car surprised me when i checked the meter once i reached university it gave an amazing 21km/l pics are attached in refrence
