Default Delay in acceleration Honda City

I have Honda City Late 09 Model with 43,000 Km on it. I am facing some issues with the acceleration when i press the gas pedal to speed up. the car delays before accelerating for about 4-5 seconds and after that car makes a little jerk and then picks up speed. i have also noticed few times when i accelerate hard car do nothing but starts slipping right left Any ideas? what could be the problem Thanks!

(Delay problem is reduced 50 Percent when driving on CNG)

    Try below, this might help;

Start ure car and push the accelerator paddle till RPM is at 3, keep it at 3 for about 30 sec.
Then move ure car in fist gear and take it up till 2.5k rpm. After reaching 2.5 RPM, release the paddle till car is on 1 RPM. Dont change the gear.
Repeat this 3-4 times and that’s it.

Inaddition to this change ure air filter to KN performance filter, even guard will give better result then OEM.
TRy this and share your experience.

its mostly due to air blockage
and due to bad quality of petrol try hi octane once u will feel the difference
and did u install cut off relay in ur car which siwch off fuel pump while running on CNG if not ur pump wont last long and will get weak eventually dies

your car is almost new but still logically i see two reasons

-- butterfly in throttle body getting stuck
-- accelerator cable getting stuck .. (it presses so might not be the case)

-- one less likely chance is TPS (throttle position sensor) idle adjustment has gone out slightly ... the only possibility to this is u got ur throttle body cleaned and someone messed with it

most likely it is a sludge filled butterfly getting stuck ... if u haven't got ur TB serviced till now .. its time but get it done from a qualified service shop

If the rpm rises and car does not gain speed clutch can be the culprit too but cannot happen with low mileage car

Get firmware update for your ecu. All 2009 and few 2010 model cities have this problem. The ratios are messed up. I have driven 3 Honda cities all of them had this issue.. go to honda 3s

Did you get your car's fuel filter changed at 40k? I had similar issue and was resolved after changing fuel filter and servicing throttle body at 40k.
Though bit delay is acceptable due to DBW system but 4-5 seconds delay is too much.

I found this info on internet somewhere so shared. Have done this on my friend honda city and there was improvement. BTW this procedure will not harm anything if not giving any benefit. Regarding the reason i dint remember exactly but this procedure will make the ECU to recalibrate all of its settings. Also try resetting ure ECU

Wasae its great to know that we have Jokers here in this section who are mechanics too.

yeah....that too on high RPMs...on high RPMs there is no lag at all in City. it just "thinks" till around 2.3k in every gear and then says " oh achaaa.....i have to go fast...got it got it" and then goes wwrroooommmmm

@poster....throttle body and ECU reprogramming. DOne and dusted

you want the best solution ? get that chip installed powermax something.. a few days ago it was the only thing pakwheelers talked about
the car which benefits most from that chip is your honda city.. because like i said.. the power ratios are messed up.. through the chip their engineers can tune your car to perfection. even give it a slight edge over other cities
