Default Honda City 2011 new shape ground clearance isse

    Dear Members ,

I need suggestions of what can be done to improve the ground clearance on my city. i have seen the silencer dholki under the driver seat is bulging out and it touches my house garage ramp and other speed breakers, I am not interested to insert spacers or add new springs. is there anything that can be done in the exhaust sytem to overcome the issue,

can any thing be added on this to avoid the direct impact from road?

I am worried why honda has not done RnD on this thing only this dholki is bulging out :@

    Please help me

    Sameer

Try replacing the stock 175/65 with 185/65 to increase the clearance. However, it will be minimal and may or may not solve your problem. Avoid 195/65 size as it will give you a differential value of more than 4% which is harmful for the suspension.

ramps are not properly made. nothing wrong with car. if you change anything on car . it needs to be professionally tested or you will have some issue from un authorized fiddling around with vechile

live with it. Or buy an SUV. The problem is not your car, its your driveway ramp which was designed and approved by someone without common sense.

OP you can try crossing thess bumps at a little angle so that at a given time only one wheel is on the ramp, it helps.

LIVE with it bhai... That's the main manufacturing issue of Honda cars. We have Gli and City too and also a bad designed ramp of garage....

CITY always touches the ramp whereas corolla doesn't even loaded...

There are two things u can do and by doing both will end ur warranty for suspension.
First the easiest get bigger tyres like 195 65R15, they are bigger than recommended but will clear the ground.
Secondly have packing ( usually named ) in car's rear springs.

Brother the thing is that profile is actually the percentage of the width e.g 195 65R15 means the side wall is 195?65% so when we recommend a tyre we always keep in mind the original size. Like for city 09 onwards 195 60 R15 is the ideal size.

You can also install 1" spacer in the rear.

It would not effect warranty and the suspension and drive effect will be marginal.

I am facing the same problem . I have installed the 1" spacer (For Rs 1000)in the rear but unfortunately the problem is still there , I may need some spacer in front but the mechanic told me that its not possible , my 1.5 aspire touches many speed breaker in Rawalpindi and on my route to Multan Mianwali route it also touche the road due to hikes created by overload trunks on that road. I need some solution.

If it is your own house and everyone is fine with it- fix the ramp.

I got a new garage built for our car, and on the first day the car touched the ramp.

I got it fixed and extended. No problems so far!

i have city 12...............there is no bulging dholki. go and get ur car checked by honda guys....and to avoid the ramp issue...get a steel ramp made which is placed just before this ramp. i hve seen it at many houses in lahore and it works really good.
