Default City 2012 Rear Lights Modified

hi there. aoa guys. so finally got the time to get the work done for which i was waiting since pretty long. got the idea from @Legal_rebel for whom i m thankful for the guidance to the mod.

so this is how it goes. when u turn the parking light on, only one bulb is illuminated and when the brake is applied, the light on the extreme most also glows. the inner most portion of the lights (right next to the number plate) never glows, and neither is a reflector as that is placed next to the reverse light. actually there is a space made there where the civic grip comes perfectly in it, but these Honda thieves have not given us an extra bulb to save the cost, and instead have sealed that place. so all that is needed to be done is to remove the plastic portion and fix the holder , and u r good to go. so i installed a double filament bulb there so that it can be used for both parking and brake. furthermore, i also replaced the farthest most bulbs (the ones which only turn on with the brakes) to double filament so that they also serve the dual purpose. i didnt touch the center bulb (for parking light) but altered it as such that it only glows when the brakes are applied. attaching the pictures...i personally love this setup of the lights much much more than the standard arrangement, which i actually find pretty boring
    Enjoy

Same. I have 50% tints, can barely see inside and have never been stopped in Pindi or ISB.

    Cool Great job!

I love the alteration you have made to your City's rear lights. I hope to do the same to the lights of my city too.

The blank light is actually for rear fog lights in which high intensity bulbs are fixed which are used in foggy driving conditions. The blank space in the City sold in Thailand and China has this fog light feature but since Pakistan govt has not enforced requirement of rear or front fog lights so this space is left blank. To actuate the rear fog lights, a switch is available on the dashboard which switches on these lights once the front low beam is also on. Just for everyone's info so that people can stop cursing Atlas Honda for saving money

You are welcome.must show us the results. And do once thing. The center portion lights up when brake. Don't install that bulb at all. That way you would only have two lights each end with a gap between when you brake. Those would look cool

    Salam Waleed Bhai

When you say that you altered the center bulb so that it doesn't light up with the parking lights but only when braking, how is that done? Also, is the stock center bulb double filament since it lights up for both parking and braking?

    Great mod looks very Audi-ish.

Salam @waleed80 ! Sir, I recently bought a city 2014 model and I want to do this DIY on my city too ! But I have a query regarding this DIY, today after having an eye on this thread, I just ran towards my car and opened one of its tail light, but I am confused that how can you people make that hole in which new civic holder is fitted ! I mean the plastic is fixed at the place of holder and it is unremovable ! Now, my question is HOW or with which tool you people managed to cut it properly without messing it up ??? your replies are very much heipful for me, as I am very interested in doing that DIY on my car. Here is a reference pic.... on next page
