Default honda city underside shield CLIPS

So my Honda City's underside plastic shield's retainer plastic CLIPS used to fall down time and again.

The plastic shield then used to drag along the road.

Replaced the plastic clips several times, but they always fell down, and along with it the shield.

This time I fixed it using nuts/bolts/washers instead of the clips.

    Job well done and permanently.

Wonder why the manfacturer won't fix it with nuts/bolts instead of the pathetic clips? There is hardly any difference between their prices and they are cheap nevertheless.

simple so you buy them again and again, and the sheets drag and get damaged, You buy new sheets then
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

Dont know why did your clips used to get dropped again n again, usually they are completely press fit and its quite tough enough to unclip them.
and question is not the cost only, adding nuts and bolts for plastic sheet involves more process time on manufacturing line (even it is few more seconds), clips are just press fit, nut bolts require tightening so adds more time for a process. Plastic parts (interior garnishes, covers, engine under shields, wheel cups etc) are normally designed to fix through clips not through bolts.

listen up while making a car they have to think out the process of making the car fuel efficient give you more miles in less fuel hence they try reducing weight from each end and every corner what ever they can that is . that is why instead of using a metal bolt they used light plastic ones . that what i think

these clips expand when the centre bullet is pushed in, and they are quite hard to remove unless you take out the bullet, OTOH if your panel holes had enlarged then thats a separate problem.

Its a good option to use bolts to secure this - as it does have to take the brunt of flexing

yes, the shield was deformed and was swinging downwards from the expansion due to heating.

the holes in the shield are normal, not enlarged.

i think the clips were failing, because the shield was no longer flat, but somewhat deformed from the heat.
