Question Honda city 2013 on CNG

    AoA!!!
I have just bought Honda city 2013 1.3 manual and want to inquire about the following:
-- What average would it give me on CNG?
-- What issues, if any, would I face on CNG? I had Mitsubishi Lancer 1.3 model 2004 and it would not pick up on CNG particularly when AC was on. Do we have same issues in CIty?
-- What features, if any, would I be sacrificing by installing CNG, any check lights etc??

    Regards,
    Wasim

First of all congratulations on your purchase. Regarding your query I would say that you are going to face some issue with pick on CNG. Even there are complaints by several 1.3 owners that the car is pretty sluggish even on Petrol so we are talking about CNG here. I do not think there are going to be any check lights coming up because of installing CNG but I guess a person who own's one and is running on CNG can give you better information on this.

Slightly off the topic question here. What is the mileage you are getting on Petrol on 1.3 Manual ?
Are you thinking what I'm thinking that I think that you're thinking I'm thinking because if you think that I think what I think I'm thinking then we've got a problem?

go for it bro. for an average earning guy petrol is not longer an option. Pick will reduce a little and you will face some problem with car knocking and turning off on a signal(kind of gets annoying)

    Aoa
Congratulations on ur purchase. I own city 2010 on cng. In last three months i drove almost 10,000km n 99.5% on cng as cng is available 24/7 in kpk.
Allhamdullillah car gives 220+10km on cng on motorway with top speed of 150kph. And this consumption is with average speed of 130kph and with 60-65% AC usage.
I hav not faces any issues regarding acceleration. Only catch is that u need to use tomaseto advancer. Someone here mentioned that fuel gauge needle will drop along with cng usage but no need to worry about it all u hav to do is just remove battery terminal for 4-5mins and then reconnect it n will get correct indication on fuel gauge.
So my advice go ahead with cng installation.

    Thumbs down No CNG

Hiader5, you have very rightly pointed out that availability of CNG is the biggest issue. Long long lines these days means you have to waste a lot of time in getting CNG unless you have 2 cars and a driver who can waste his time to get your CNG while you drive the 2nd car and get your work done.

Secondly, CNG works fine in most cars but really gives some problems to the electrical and mechanical systems over the period of time. Blown fuses, car refusing to start, build up on valves and cylinder heads, cooling issues etc. Its better to leave the new car on petrol and if you can afford it buy a 2nd hand car with CNG in it. That's my suggestion.
