    Default City isdi clutch bearing

    Experts
I need some serious urgent suggestion regarding clutch bearing
    City isdi
    2007
    70000 driven

Clutch bearing is making sheee sheee noise ive two opinions from two different mechanics
    1. Change the clutch bearing otherwise clutch plates and pressure plate are going to be damaged

    2. Drive as it is because when we are going to open it we would probably be ending up changing bearing and plates

Need advice on which path to take
    If bearing which one
If all which company... Original honda or some other party

    Its urgent guys...

You should have to replace clutch plate immediately as well as thrust bearing (Clutch Bearing),Because hard clutch pedal is a clear indication of worn clutch plate.

If you observed only humming sound while pressing clutch then you need not to worry about.

My friend city 05 has same bearing noise. He ignored it and after couple of months his clutch plates and pressure plates got THUS when he was with his family on a long drive. :/.

So better change the bearing only.

If there is no pedal vibration/pulsation and clutch sticking problem then there is no harm to drive with noisy bearing.I have personally driven a lot of vehicle with noisy clutch bearing for a long period without any problem.

i got same issue in my civic 05 (a friend of mine got it two and changed bearings) its been more then a year now and i havn't yet replaced the bearings. So far the car runs fine, pedal is not hard, no slipping nothing. Just a shhhhhnnn sound then the clutch is NOT pressed. When i press the pedal down, the sound goes away.

Dealership told me to replace bearings and since the cost is quite alot, its better to change plates as well in same labor. I don't have this much budget to spare so for now i am running with it. However my use is mostly in city and i try to go easy with clutch.

There is some vibration when the car is in rest (first gear engaged) and clutch is coming up but its only when engine is not warm enough

The only difference in our situation is i get the sound when it is pressed and almost no vibrations and they told me to go along with it and change all set (bearing, plates and pressure plate )

Brother genuine NSK and NTN Clutch bearing for your city costs Rs. 2200 & 2500 respectively and runs with the life of clutch i.e. 3 years or 50,000 km or depending your driving style.

When the mechanic will dismount the gearbox he will tell the condition of clutch plate. pressure plate and bearing.

Its a 3-4 hours labour mechanic probably charge 3-4,000 rupees for a clean job.

If you car accelerates well and has power to go beyond 150km/hr the clutch / pressure combo is fine.

If you are facing jerk or roughness in shifting gears the Bearing must be the culprit or it can also start making noise.

Honda in Pakistan uses genuine FCC clutch and pressure plate the set will cost you 15,500 for made in Japan and 13,500 for Malaysia.

Second comes Aisin /Asco which will cost around 9,500 for Japanese ones.
All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better.
