^^^ Very right Nousher bro. Let's just focus on the face lifted City for now. There are small improvements without a rise in cost of the vehicle. Late or not, it's not something you get to see in the country every day. I don't think that the sales will spike despite the so called uplift but they aren't going to decrease either. Those of us who just needed a push off the cliff to go out and buy "a City" have just found the right excuse to do so. Best of luck everybody.

The praise this 2012 "facelift" model is getting on PW has been a letdown in and of itself, now that our best (honda) has stooped to the level of our worst (suzuki), just proves that we dont deserve new and better cars.
Also the "no price increase" we know as 14k PkR, in a country living below $1/day is a pity.

For the record my dad booked the base ivtec back in 2009 for just Pkr 1,250,000 (including all taxes). Just tells us where we're headed as a nation.

^^^ True, indeed, but beggars can't be choosers. The lobbies involved with respect to our automobile industry and market have the magic wand to manipulate things around. We, as customers don't, as the manipulators are the strongest because of us. Despite all the inflation, will it stop you from getting your next car? Will you come out and protest? Will you ask for non-existent customer rights? I still remember my late father purchasing our very first car, a 1974 Toyota Corolla for 34,000/- back in the day.
Whatever you are wishing and hoping for, all of us are with you. But unless the lobbies are ruthlessly destroyed and companies are de-politicised, I'm afraid we will have to call the facelift "Zabardast".

Dont get me wrong but my price reference was infact for the same model (now being discontinued @1,508 BEFORE taxes vs 1,250 AFTER in '09)
Tbh sir i cant agree with you more, but the least we can do is not glorify it being the enlightened few on PW, and that too imo is not a bad place to start.

I am in the same boat as yourself, bought mine on the 1st October. Be patient, it should be doable with relatively low costs, need to give some time and the new style bumper/tail lights will start popping up everywhere.

I personally plan to change the front and rear bumper.

I am with you all the way. We should do what we can and Pakwheel is a relevant platform. Honestly, I won't be surprised to know that the big league players like Honda Atlas, Toyota Indus and Pak Suzuki keenly follow us here to get the pulse of customers. What they give or don't is another story. Those of you who have read or followed my Civic Viper thread would immediately understand that quite a bit of things that we have in the 9th Gen Civic as standard or optional may have been picked by the Corporate Intelligence section of Honda Atlas and Toyota Indus. Door sills, cabin interior ambient lighting, cruise control installation (Credit to PW member Zunny), steering controls and much more.

My sincere request to Honda Atlas and Toyota Indus:

Please consider OEM alloy rims in 16x6.5" and corresponding tyres (Bridgestone, Dunlop, Yokohama) as option for someone wanting to upgrade the wheel just like SatNav and leather seats. It will be a complete peace of mind with respect to authenticity, balance between comfort and performance. And you will get the look too. People still opt for SatNav and leather seats. This step could be a game changer since most of us go for the wheel and rim thing. What do you guys think. Votes please

I have a 2010 city. 1 lac km driven in islamabad and on rough roads of southern punjab as well. Still interior has no squeaks and suspension is alright Alhumdulillah. Recently whole car was inspected by Honda on 1 lac km checkup.
Both cars have their pros amd cons. I simply cannot bear the torture of protecting a corolla everywhere. City's comfort level is good. Itna b burri nae hay jitna logon ne rola dala hua hay iski suspension ka.

19/20 nhi bhai 19/29 ka difference hai suspension mein civic v/s corolla
Aur city k sath comparison karo to 19/119 ka faraq hai :p
Btw can't believe u actually think that City's cheap hard plastic interior is better than new Corolla..

If Atlas Honda is really following Pakwheels then they must be very happy to see that their cheap tactic is actually working i.e to earn big from left overstock of this facelift bought from India and China at throw away prices...

This is first time in history of AHL in Pakistan that they have delayed a launch that much, before that they were the benchmark for Toyota and Suzuki when it came to launching new model.

Default Honda city 2014 --- pakistan launch

Why discussing over issues on which we don't have control. Chill guys and stop this Toyota vs Honda competition. At least I am happy that I am gonna get few extra feature in my car simply for paying for nothing extra. I booked my city on 2nd October and insisted the dealer for an quick delivery. He told me to wait for couple of weeks. Now I am happy. When new shape will come then decide whether to keep it and buy new shape. Till then chill mahooool.

But such thing has happened first time that new shape is out for quite a while now in neighboring countries and they are inaugurating the face-lift model with pride ...... what a shame

New and better looks of Corolla alongwith a solid feel of bigger car and a superb soft suspension which even the 2.5 million civic doesn't have .. outweigh all minor goodies u listed above...

You forgot, with same old 90's engine! XD
In your words, let me say, OLD WINE IN NEW BOTTLE.
This line is enough to troll XLI/GLI fans!
    BTW you meant to say:
    Comfort>ABS
    Comfort>Mileage
    Comfort>Power
    Comfort>Rims
Comfort>Power windows and central locking etc
For Civic you meant to say
    Comfort>Safety(Airbags)
    Comfort>Climate control
    Comfort>Immobiliser etc
And Civic with better tyres is as comfy as corolla.
    LOL
XLI/GLI only have 2 good thing compared to City and that is it's suspension and shape, nothing else!
    Tum karo to tumara HAQ!
