    dont do the replacement ... first ask the scanner guy what scanner has diagnosed.. if he dont bother to tell u the exact problem than go to some good cng vala ... almost every cng valas have scanner these days. and ask him to check the problem he will charge approx rs.500... i have the same problem 2 years back.. my steering's torque sensor coil was damaged i didnt replace it uptill now and the steering is going gud. mechanic just cleaned the sensor coil connector and reset the eps and everything is fine..

    regular engine scanners wont pick up the code, you can also pull it manuall by flashing the EPS lamp in the cluster with the DLC break box method - a good Honda technician knows about this. Easier would be to connect something like a launch diagun etc.

    Dont do anything as of now.

    When the EPS lamp shows up and the steering goes hard, scan for the code. Post the code here and you will find a solution.

    word of advice::::

    dont turn the steering quickly with your palm - it overheats the motor and the steering shuts down.

    "dont turn the steering quickly" does this apply to all power steerings? hydraulic and electronic?

    In hydraulic the system can take the abuse as it has got a pretty heavy cooling system too which is its oil, the EPS lacks this and rotating the steering very quick with your palm while the car is standing still will overheat the motor and the EPS will shutdown till the motor cools off again.

    the blinks are counted as long and short then added. Each DTC is spread apart by a 1 second pause.

    Im assuming by 6 blinks you saw 1 long and 5 short meaning 15 - which is the torque sensor main and sub both reporting faults - hence the EPS shut down.
