Change the filling station. Use injector cleaner and go on high revs for a km or two.

Injectors spray fuel under high pressure inside the Manifold. They have tiny holes / nozzles and tend to get blocked due to the dirt in our Petrol. That decreases their performance. Injector cleaner cleans them out, so you can regain the performance you once had.
I rather prefer Ultra Sonic cleaning of them though.

I had been facing slight knocking in my Axio but during the past few days, with the hot temperature, knocking problem has increased a lot. I read that the engine requires a higher octane number during summer for proper running. I have also got to clean the injectors...

One trick told to me by the owner of the workshop where i take my cars for check up is that he said,"go to a service station and ask to put high pressure water on the radiator and ac grill, the dirt will get out and car will be fine"

Hi-octane fuel is manufactured to deal with such knocking issues caused by lower octane number. Get fuel refilled from Total station. Now, if you are already using it, then clean or change the spark plugs. If problem persists, then change the fuel filter, clean the injectors, air filter, throttle body etc...

I am surprised that every one failed to asked whether the poster upgraded his ECU firmware to 2010 onwards or not.

This issue was prominent in 2009 to early 2010 models of Honda City. If you haven't upgraded your ECU firmware from Honda till date, i suggest you do it now. Its free by the way. Atleast back in 2011 it was free.

What the upgrade does is lowers the ignition timing across the RPM to reduce knock which is caused by bad PK fuel.

Here...let me refer you to my thread long time back

The same thing honda tech said.

Because auto tranny weren't causing the problem apparently. You have to say " No No Please. I Insist."

I have mentioned that you might compromise on mid to high end acceleration, but as the poster is experiencing such bad situation of knocking, its better to proceed.

By the way, @hamadbashir never updated us about the issue.

The question is how often will it require you to fill high octane. Its not available everywhere.

    Did you goto Honda 3S??

The ECU upgrade was released only for the manuals. For autos no upgrade exists.

What If i tell you I have mine Auto 09 version updated.......Should I also post the name of the Honda Field Engineer as well who did the job to back my argument??

Like I said, the knock was prominent in Manuals. Generally 3S guys avoided doing it on Auto's and presented excuses. Thats because the job was done on any of the 3S workshops and it required time of the Field Engineer who would travel from assembly plant to 3s to attend to complaints.
