Lightbulb City's need for cooling the engine

Just a query from PW members.

In City Prosmatec, how often shud I check the battery water and radiator ?
& for radiator, shud I use coolant (which one?) or just simple water ?
& for battery, shud I use battery liquid or just water ?

another thing, if it seems that AC is not cooling much, ideal thing is to check it from Honda dealers, right ?

dont know if it was serviced previously or not. but was working better for month or so...

    appreciate the advices

    Thanks

Brother for your satisfaction, you should check these level almost daily before starting ur ride up. it will consume maximum 1-2 minutes.
If you want to use coolent go for caltex
For battery boil some water and let it cool, after that put in battery as much u need (do not put more than maximum level of battery) and start your car.
For AC cooling issue, multiple reasons can reduce the cooling
    1. low AC gas pressure,
    2. radiator lines blockage,
    3. low air blow pressure,
After each summer season cars decrease the level of AC gas pressure, Use Ac air cleaner filter (Located behind Dashboard Accessories box) it will make ur air clean for outside dust, and always use inner generated air option (Not the fresh air). Go for AC service or just consult some AC guy he will tell u if it needs to service

    hmmm, thanks alot for sugg.
im thinking to go for coolant, but i was curious if I can use simple water in radiator ?

for AC, will surely have checked the gas pressure and AC air filter ...

    Thanks again.

checking once a week is enough. if level decreases, get checked for leak(coolant) and overcharging(battery)
for topping up, use distilled water. NEVER use boiled water.
yes get it checked from honda or any expert. AC might need service. newer cars don't need gas recharge every year.

So, took car to Honda. as half expected, there was no AC filter in the tray for AC filter...

AC itself was quite dirt-ed up, so got it serviced and placed the filter.

Friends say its normally better without filter. but wudnt that decrease the compressor life, with dirt..?

also, an additional expense of changing the filter every, lets say 2 months max. ?

as A is serviced, shud i just throw the filter away once its clogged with dirt or keep it replaced once its life ended ?

    thanks

Well, it is good thing that you have installed ac cabin filter in it. It is not recommended to use ac with ac cabin filter for better results. You can make an habit to change ac cabin filter at every second oil change. It will be beneficial for you.

Get AC filter cleaned from Honda 3S when you go for oil change. That will enhance its life.

changing ac cabin filter every 2nd oil change ... wud it be worth it ? i mean wat will be the effect on AC compressor in the long run if i just use it as the previous owner did (for 4 years), w/o filter ... ?

So, the packed one (top pic) is the new one (since its in plastic...) ?

I assume u r saying that changing AC cabin filter on every 2nd oil change is...not required ?

so what time usually it requires the change ?

another thing, since u r here, as i mentioned previously, the pick & more importantly, the mileage im getting is...very sad.

after oil change & AC service (for diff reason thou) I'm not getting any better mileage. its around 9.4 km/l as per ODO.

previously, I changed the plugs but they werent new. do u recommend that after getting totally new Honda spark plugs, it will return to normal which is around 12~14 km/l for City ?

or anything else still needs to be done? i read sumwhere on forum abt iridium plugs ? does Honda have those or have to buy them from sumwhere else ?

    ur advise is really appreciated.

    thanks.

cabin filter change is done every year, even in Pakistan climate. This is after driving in Houston, TX where its a bit less dusty than Pakistan but the black is a collection of road grime, dead skin, fluff etc.

the A/C compressor has nothing to do with this, its only to filter air that passes through the evaporator coil, if its a bit blocked you may experience a lack of flow of air which will cause the A/C to trip out but you would have less cooling effect.

AC filter should be cleaned once every 10K. However, keep fresh air closed so that dust does not enter cabin.

I live on the other side of the planet so it'll be pretty hard to set a meeting. anyway - you should start a separate thread that tackles matters one at a time.

e.g. you say you have the engine tuned? - I find that a bit impossible on your car unless you are talking about reading actual fuel trim values and somehow changing them too.

AC filter cannot be re-used like engine air filter after cleaning with pressurized air. Just change it after 20K ~ 30K kms odo reading on your car.

hmm, okay. actually i was referring to the dust that will be collected due to lack of filter, on the inner parts of AC.
