Default Which Engine oil is recommended in weak engine

I have Honda City IDSI 2005. Its engine is weak and the main seal of the engine is also leak. It gives smoke and reduces oil due to leakage and smoke. It has done 1,50,000 KM. Last time I used Shell Helix HX5 (15W-40) but the pick of the engine has quite reduced.
Which Engine Oil I should use.?

If the car is consuming lot of oil then get its engine overhauled....usually 150k km is nothing for 1300cc car...my brother-in-law has 2004 city..........280k Km on odo...still going strong using 10W40 oil..just consumes about 0.5lit after 2000km ...

If the car is continuously reducing oil and producing smoke and there is loss in power...there is no need of compression test.....it is a clear indication that ring pistons are gone...if smoke is at cold startup only that means valve seals are gone...and if smoke is black that means engine is running rich on fuel....
In pakistan we have a habbit that we hear something and then starts recommending it unnneccessarily.....compression test are understandable if one cant find root cause of loss in power etc.... although it is not expensive but point is it is not neccessary everytime....

If you dont want to rebuild the engine then use Castrol GTX only.

Some times people use additives along with engine oil to fix engine internal problems.. Has anyone did try this method?

why not test the engine first, oil consumption can be due to bad valve seals/guides etc.
