Unhappy low air flow from vents

Aoa dear members.. i have honda city 1999.. airflow is reduced in this season as compared to before . mechanic told he has to remove dashboard and then he will check air leaking and clogging in heater core bla bla ....he thinks that there is a issue of foam not set properly as car is old foam is compressed enough moreover he said there is little air leaking from windscreen vents while air direction is set toward to face in dashboard button ...

is he right ???? foam can be the issue??

he said it will cost rs 1800 labour + foam .... kindly guide me

second thing he said cooling is not good coz air flow is not appropriate and u have raxine poshish over seats ... remove your poshish ...and use genuine seats cover ... does it make any sense of not cooling car ?

have you checked the cabin air filter? It's behind the glove-box in most Toyotas, not sure about Honda's

I think, this is one of the valid point raised by him. I also have experience regarding it as i had Honda Civic 2005 with Raxine + Leather mixed stuff on the seats (putted by previous owner) as soon as i removed it and put cloth seat covers, cooling was increased rapidly plus i could able to drive it in hot sunny day without ac.

Go ahead with the filter part and Try to Get your car's a/c Serviced. The guy was right about leather/rexene seats Heating Up but that's no reason to Decrease air flow!

This is the filter pair which i got from Universal AC G8 Isb (Abubakar bhai)
low air flow from vents - 2X Carbon Cabin Air Filter for Honda Civic 03 05 Civic Hybrid 02 06 CR V

Open the slot with 2 empty casings for the above filter pair behind the glove box
And put the filter elements in the casings.

I have found this product to be really amazing at this job, just feed the wand in the evaporator box and flood the box with the foam - let sit for 10 minutes then start the A/C - the condensate will wash out the junk.

Sadly - not available in Pakistan - we are still stuck in the "surf ka paani" way

soda water works - slowly though - but you need to agitate it as its foaming properties are not good. But it gets stuff out.

A freind of mine once used a cheap shaving foam too.

follow factory recommended procedure to actually determine that your A/C is working as it should. Without a set control point of reference you cannot help this situation.

the foam you speak of is inside the air handler box (HVAC box) stuck on little doors. Its a very involved job to take out.
