looks like fuel trim pot, a potentiometer to give a variable signal to set any variable which here is fuel mixture.

Here is mine in my honda civic...
what is this near ecu honda city exi -1466949

If you look yours from below you will find the same as in this picture.

Please do not disturb, until you have exhaust gas sensor setup to calibrate the fuel mixture...

This model of city is obd1. you will not be able to connect it to a scanner even if u had one. The mixture if never messed with should be good on factory settings. if u want to check your current mixture, get a exhaust probe done. i am assuming you r running on petrol otherwise its just a mo point. It should be only be adjusted with the probe otherwise you can overheat and seriously mess up your motor.

I think it is theoretically possible connect an o2 sensor but why do u want to do it? pot works just fine, even the civic uptill 2006 comes with pot only. no o2 sensor.

One generally needs a wide band to adjust it to exactly 14.7. Unlikely to find one easily other than tuners.

A gas analyzer will get you close but not exact based on CO and CO2 emissions.

On the other hand, using a scan tool can help to give access to a 'certain' Manufacturer Specific PID that tells if the mixture is set lean or rich. Then again, one needs to know at what value that parameter is factory set to.

No, I am not talking about Lamda or Fuel Trims. Those only show up in LIVE DATA when the vehicle is equipped with an O2 sensor

Like @Xulfiqar bhai said, only change if you know what you are doing. A rich wont cause that severe a damage as a lean would.

i was thinking to install o2 sensor to make air fuel ratio dynamic(which changes air fuel ratio with real time driving situations rather than sticking to static afr set by pot) hence more efficent tell me if it is practical apporach or to leave it as it is ...

second, i m not gonna touch the pot without any scanner and mechanic who know how to deal with it... my car have p3s ecu having 3 pin dlc for diagnosting.. will it show real time parameters in scanning like air fuel ratio , ignition timming ?? fuel pump pressure? basically i m gonna tune my car as stock so i thought it would be good to know HOW HAW abt tunning before work
