Default Honda City 2007 Vario Auto tranmission Problem.

I am having a weird Issue with my car transmission. Its City Vario driven on Petrol onlythrough out its life and current Mileage is 104000 Km.
Sometimes when I start my car,It does not move on D,L or S Mode. It does move on R mode taking reverse. So,I switch it off and do it few times and then It starts moving on D mode after few tries.
Once, It never moved so I left it and after some hours, when I started, It started moving on every mode.
sometimes, it happens when I am on a traffic signal and I put on P mode and when I put it on D (Drive) mode, it does not move.

What could be the problem and its rectification?.
I was thinking to change its CVT oil so I called Honda 3S and they gave an estimate of 5400 PKR to for oil change.
Should I got it changed or there is a different problem associated with it.

Its seems from your described problem, start clutch get worn.

The brand new transmission will cost you 5-lac from 3s dealership. Only go to 3s dealership, they will give you better solution and if possible, they will repair it other wise roadside mechanic will worn your transmission. Kabli transmission is also good option having cost 20-30k pkr.

When will you change the CVT oil? Which Oil you are using now?

Engine Oil in use is Caltex Havoline Formula.
I never changes CVT oil as of yet.I will go for Honda CVT oil as it has been recommended my many Pakwheelers on the forum.

So the solution is to change the tranmission?
I thought it to be sensor issue.

I would suggest you to go 3s dealership, meet with workshop manager and tell him all story that you tell us. They will diagnose each and every thing and then tell you which part has to replace?

sounds like you never changed the CVT oil - and your transmission pump filter is pretty much stuck with debris now.

WOW, mileage of 104000km and you never changed it's CVT oil!
Our '06 Vario city started doing the same thing, it would not work on any mode and then we took it to our mechanic and he said change its CVT oil ASAP, you're not late or you would have lost its transmission. 4 litres of CVT oil from Honda costed us around 4k. And our car mileage at that time was around 55k km and it started working properly after that!

Well I'm not an expert, but do get it serviced first, there might be dust. Plus you might have been running it without CVT oil which might have caused some other problem!

change cvt oil and recalibrate cvt clutch according to a thead here(the Autel way one).... the procedure is real simple, disconnect batteries, reconnect batteries and go to a deserted road, highway, accelerate to 60, coast and let the car come to stop(almost stop) on its on, repeat 2-3 times... and rechange the cvt oil on next oil change as well if u're keeping the car as only four liter oil comes out per tranny oil change......

    Default Auto gear problem

Brother, I had the same problem with my Honda car in Quetta, I spent 10xdays in wksp with zero results. Even after 10 days the mechanics tried to make me convince that the car will be 100 % rectified if I leave to them for few more days. Plz understand, these mechanics are not qualified but Chota turned Ustad type. Honda is a simple machine but computerized which need education. Thus I took a bold decision, sent my car via carrier to Khi and got it rectified in just 2 days. The problem found was computer (got minor repaired) and one odd sensor in gear box. Hats off to that mechanic named Qaiser. He is near old DRVE IN cinema in Gulshan. I cannot write his number here. Please give me ur contact to share details.

Get the oil changed. It was supposed to be done at 40k km.
Try to get the filter cleaned as well. Your car will be fine. That's no censor issue

Congratz, if u're keeping this car for some years then i'd advise you to do another change after 10k, so most of the oil in tranny is as new as possible....
