    Default City Fuel consumption good or bad

    Aoa members i have city 99efi went to lahore and came back in one tank ...


    D15b2 1.5 engine

    Step by step Statistical data is mentiined below

    Initial niddle was just v near to E then we refill rs 3300 =34.5 litres
    Total driven:530km
    Motorway driven 340km
    Local lahore driven: 190 km

    Tell me is it bad , normal or good

    That is not a reliable method of testing fuel economy; needle near 'e' may mean anything from 5 liters to 10 liters.

    At the next refill, fill it to the brim, and then reset the trip meter, then drive it for a few hundred kilometers. At the next refill, divide the number of liters filled by the number on the trip meter. Note down the fuel consumption. Repeat the steps for five tanks or more; this way you will reduce the error in the measurement. For that model, anything around a combined 12 km/l or more is good imo.

    I believe on the motorways, an average condition engines gives good average too while driving at moderate speeds.
    However, within city average is important.
    I fill the tank when red lamp turns on (indication of low fuel), after refilling I reset the small digital clock by pushing down it with finger tip.
    And I note the mileage till this red lamp light is again on. Its gives pretty good values to calculate the average.
    And my 99% travelling is within city only.

    BTW, have you noticed the average within city?

    No i didnt note the mileage in city .... I filled the tank and travelled 530km 350 on motorway n 190km local in lhr
