Default Honda City 2008 Rock Hard Suspension

    Aslamo Alaykum

My Honda City 2008 is giving feeling of rock hard suspension. Its feels like I have installed Stones instead of Rubber tyres. I can feel even a minor stone effect sitting inside. I have Yokohama A Drive with around 50000km usage already. I have not changed them crossover yet. On Smooth road drive is excellent but as road comes a little bit stony or patchy it feels like I am driving my car on rims without tyres. Suspension especially rear one is not satisfactory at all. I have had packing inserted in rear shock absorbers but its 3 years ago.

Is it tyre issue or shock absorbers? Whether shocks can be services or something else should be done?

Change tires to Michelin or Dunlop ones.

idsi has a really soft and comfortable suspension and ride
stick to 13 rims and soft tyres and see for yourself

50,000 are enough i think.your car must be skidding on a little harsh braking i am sure.

r talking about idsi ?then yes i am sure
if you have the new shape one. there is nothing much you can do to make the ride little better
(but still 50,000 km done tyres would be definitely hard and make it worse)

city idsi has nice shock absorbers it has soft suspension compared to city I-Vtec 2009 onwards but which tyres wont be hard after 50000km? The tread never finishes but the tyre life is finished actually after 40000km and tyres get hard which directly effect suspension causing play and loosened control arms tie rod ends axel shock.

change the tires. they have completed their life already. Get yoko advan db or something in continental or michelin.

if your car was the new shape then one could justify the hard suspensions but with idsi, its definetly the tyres.

I had Yokohama DNA DB Made in Japan in my 2008 IDSI now sold...Must say drive was very comfortable...City's suspension be it 2004-2008 shape or 2009-2014 shape is not so bad...With any good soft tyres, the problem can easily be solved!!!

In your case, the problem is definitely with the tyres which are 50,000 km driven otherwise A-Drive are not hard tyres which make your car bumpier...Get any out of these for your next tyre change:

Dunlop LM702 or 703 not so high in price and Made in Thailand I guess, SP Sport 300 slightly expensive but the pleasure of Made in Japan is always there...Yokohama Aspec, Advan DB, DNA DB, A-Drive, C-Drive e.t.c are good valuable products from Yokohama...Michelin Energy Saver Series or XM1 and XM2 if you are interested in Michelin...Continental Eco Contact 3 or 5, Premium Contact 2 or 5 and CC5 if your budget allows as this is the maximum you can get for any car in Pakistan!!!

Now I have given you the complete list of good tyres which you can get for your car!!!

Yes 185/65R14 is an ok size...In Michelin, go for Energy Saver or Energy XM2 but XM2 is I guess a better thing...Ask from the dealer that which one out of these two is better as these two are almost similar products and the most selling ones in the Michelin Product Range in Pakistan!!!
